It was a known issue before they released the update, it's mentioned in the patch notes. A dev has confirmed there will be no more updates until end of Jan but didn't confirm if this means chat won't be back before then but being so close to Christmas, I highly doubt they will have this fixed in the coming week or two, potentially.

I read somewhere that the graphics issues are less frequent when using DirectX11. It's a performance boost that makes the game loading in easier on your pc. It solved a couple graphics issues on my plot too

See above. But MOST OF THE TIME low poly trees are the billboards/lods that are supposed to take place in the far distance perspective that should change to highpoly when you get closer. But if the map/game isn't loading properly the billboards for some objects doesn't change when you get closer. Or don't load in at all.

@grizzled thistle and not to make excuses for Palia or any other game that doesn't perform stabily even when on a well oiled and high power pc, but if you're having issues you should actually reduce the quality to reduce strain on the game load.

Tho... It's frustrating to do that when a nicer quality is available but just not working
