#Accidental donut-use!

Hi Avi!

Me and my sister @trail tundra both accidentally used donuts in the past week/week and a half - @trail tundra bought something on accident but she can't really remember what it was, only that since then she had bought a moonbinder pod with donuts, so it was before that purchase, and it wasn't anything she kept.

For me, it was insta-growing an apple tree. Now I have no need for an apple tree and was just shoveling them at the time, my diary is fully logged when it comes to apples etc etc, these were just extra seeds from my worm, so the fully grown tree also got shoveled ||after staring at it for a bit.||

Neither of us recorded these events and we're late on reporting it, so neither of us is expecting any refund but we wanted to bring this to your attention since we know there are several threads asking for the implementation of a confirmation button/pop-up when using donuts, and we agree with those posts!

Please add a confirmation button. Donuts are a premium currency, and premium currencies need a confirmation button. I'm so serious when I say need. Every game worth the money they receive for that premium currency NEEDS a confirmation before the premium currency is spent. Otherwise, players will have accidents where they lose their donuts on things they didn't mean to buy. And although the devs are very generous and helpful in refunding these accidents, that still requires the player to make the effort of reporting it. At least for me, that still leaves a bit of a bad feeling.
it finally happened to me too, i accidentally misclicked and bought a common egg for 19 donuts :(

and like the OP also said, I love this game! but the lack of a confirmation button, especially after so many accidents+refunds and several requests for it, makes me just a little bit sad

Agreed, and I know that it's been said to be hesitation with adding friction for people who buy many things at once with donuts and that is valid, very valid, especially when what's at risk is people being turned off from buying donuts when that is the entire income coming from the game - must be a hard seat to be in, feeling like you could possibly alienate the one type of player keeping you afloat.

If this is a concern on any developer's mind however, please keep in mind that within that group of players - the donuts-buyers - are also a subgroup who will also stop buying donuts because there is no safeguard, either because of too many accidents or the feeling of being exploited, no matter how lenient the refund policy.

There are good middle-grounds that have been suggested, like a 5 minute timer on the confirmation button etc etc, and to reiterate - I really support those! Thank you again for the fun game! dancingworm

Yeah I think its absolutely needed for any game where real money is being spent. As far as causing friction for people who would not want this, other games have used a toggle feature in settings to require confirmation for in game purchases. This being a default on setting, that players who want to take that risk, can turn it off.

Especially with economic struggles being what they are for the average working person I have to assume this is something in plans to be resolved. One of the things that drew me to Magic Garden was the lack of predatory pay to play. The donuts were always there as an option to get ahead but nothing behind a pay wall.

When games do not take steps to protect in game purchases or gatekeep certain game progress behind a paywall when advertised as a free game it raises a red flag for a lot of people.

Yes please for a confirmation button for growing plants, I've accidentally sped up the growth of a couple of plants while spam picking and its caught me off guard 🥲 maybe instead of holding space to speed up the growth its a different button for using your donuts for it?

I accidently used 300 donuts too. Any idea if if can report to get them back? Where is the undo button. 😆 😠 🥹 😭
