this happens to me sometimes too--my theory is that sometimes the blob gets stuck at the top of a jump animation and forgets to land??
That's my theory too, it happened twice in a row and both times I switched a pet at the same time that I moved
I assumed the animation for swapping canceled the animation for jumping midway through

i tried to repro by switching pets while moving but i wasn't able to get this to happen

@wet lotus to repro this you just need to interrupt the jumping animation (when walking or teleporting) by opening another menu such as your inventory, the shop, or journal whilst still mid jump!

hmm... I realize now that it's probably less likely to happen if you're using the "e"/inventory method to interrupt IF you don't struggle with inventory management (the more stuff in your inventory = the more of the screen/character covered)
I'd say it's closer to a "frame-perfect" kind of thing.. seems as though there are only a few frames in the jumping animation that can be interrupted to cause the levitation.
so technically it could be 100% yes... if you don't interrupt the animation too early or too late ๐

but of course we are only human so I wouldn't expect anyone to get it 100% of the time ๐

awesome ! ~yeah, definitely easier to repro once you've done it a few times but absolutely feels like pure luck to start levitating when you get it for the first time ๐
You got it! I'm able to repro it pretty much 100% of the time by moving and opening inventory with E at the same time

abe already did it but i've been in a rabbit hole of fixing some other server infrastructure stuff
this should be fixed in version 25+
I'm still able to do this in version 30, using all the above methods - pet, inventory, shops - both by clicking with the mouse and using keyboard shortcuts.
Noted that it is likelier to trigger when using stairs/benches/large rocks probably since the height difference in all those objects widens the window to "freeze" your blobby in the air.
No screen recordings, sorry, but a bunch of screenshots. Using the discord app for this repro, and I have my game window popped out.
It's also definitely the entire animation cycle that you can interrupt, as evidenced by this jaunty little tilt I managed.
@wet lotus Bloblings still seem to be acting like they're in a Harry Potter film ... && have mastered the pronunciation of "Wingardium Leviosa"

@reef obsidian @supple bridge thanks very much for confirming this! admittedly the fix was only speculative, it's hard for us to reproduce on our end and it sounds like we didn't fully fix it
