Unless this is something else entirely, I am unable to log max size crops in the journal. I do know some of the max sizes of crops (or the previous max sizes, maybe they increased?), and it doesn't want them!

Can confirm that this is not broken, unfortunately your crop was not max size (it has to be exactly the maximum, no rounding).
we are working on adding a label to produce so that you know whether it's max size or not.

When you click on the weight of the crop, it shows what percent size your crop is. Your sunflower may be weighted at 30kg, but the size could be 98

100 crop size is needed to be max and that can be achieved by using bees with the growth crop size perk
