and like whitebloom yez is able to contest the finale basically entirely bc of how deeply the pre-/post-fight dialogues have impacted me as a person

ANIMATED/MYSTIC WRAPUP RETROSPECTIVE

PORYGON-Z: oh my god i love this fucking thing beautiful typing, hits like a truck, arrives just in time for rafael and then keeps on being a heavy hitter for the entire rest of the game. so many different fun strats to try. plays really well with animated/mystic - loves holding a life orb and/or clicking facade, and loves loves loves that 25% damage boost off any status move. also like. its literally

MAKYANDIBUZZ: this bird is a house. toil and trouble is maybe the best ability? will-o-wisp / shiver / recover would already make this a premium mon capable of dismantling entire teams, the fact that it has active trapping moves in 3.3 is just gravy. oh and shes beautiful and perfect and such an insanely cool regional form

SIGILYPH: my baby my beloved the best bird to ever do it. i still need to try out magic guard sigilyph at some point, but oh my god bizarre loaded dice sigilyph is everything id dreamed she'd be and more. she doesn't feel unfair - she doesn't get kills it feels like she really shouldn't, and takes enough damage from most things and is just slow enough that she rarely runs away with the game - but she breaks walls, and she chunks things for more than you expect her to, and it's really fun watching the damage of a multihit move scale upwards with each hit. sigilyph spin dot gif

GALARIAN RAPIDASH IS AN HONORARY ANIMATED/MYSTIC MON NOW: heart of justice with five dark-weak mons is unironically the way to go. this horse is fast and powerful enough at base that a single step's worth of bonus attack is a meaningful addition a surprising amount of the time. and the rest of the time, you can always just click swords dance and see what happens, or u-turn and get chip damage on top of your free switch-in. u-turn is premium on heart of justice g. rapidash btw, theres so many instances where this thing pivots better than it has any right to

CLAYDOL: ive run screens claydol and ive run hazard/anti-hazard lead claydol, and both were like pretty alright i guess? claydol is funny because i often wound up using it as like- a bulky thing that's electric-immune and survives one hit from most other things, and whatever moves it happened to be running were just a neat bonus that sometimes came up. magic bounce Is a busted good ability in the tournament specifically, and i think overall claydol really shined there. oh and i mean leyline burst vaporizes any steel and/or poison type, so agility herb claydol winds up being an extremely potent lead in all three sang fights in particular

BRONZONG: 🔔 <- this bell can and will survive literally anything your opponents can throw at it. tanky, gets recovery, gets setup, gets strong&cool STABs, works beautifully with mystic and animated is really nice insulation against opponents who try and wear it down with volatile status. unlike other mons on this list i dont have much to say about bronzong other than "its good", bc like, its really fucking good. and levitate giving it two immunities is also really solid

okay ive poured out my love for my team members. i dont think theres As much to say about the aux party members just bc they arent as fresh in my mind, and/or ive said basically everything ive had to say about them already. pory-mav is a bit directionless but pulls its weight regardless, stonjourner is the GOAT and carried me on her back through the entire first half of the game, probopass is the best flying type and a tanky house with iron storm

i think the only really notable thing about this team that doesnt stand out in the screenshot is that azurill and riolu (or like, honedge could also be the steel-type ig) is a really good pair for maximizing switch-in value against lambert. baiting poison moves with azurill and then switching into riolu is really really good

this fight is gonna be weird bc on one hand i have kinda bad type matchups (lotad and swablu arent exactly exceptional into eko's types), but on the other hand i have really good support mons / doubles synergy possible - notably life dew + lather chansey feels like its gonna be really good so long as i can keep eko's physical attackers off its back

. tbh maybe i slot resonant tympole instead of lotad. maybe even CV ground resonant tympole and just hope it clicks bulldoze at some point and picks up kills

frost over is like. a house on chansey. it turns out that the pool of mons you want chansey to be in on overlaps pretty much exactly with the pool of mons that you want frostbite on

lather looked promising but frostbite is so much better. gives you the two things you really want out of a status condition, damage reduction and inevitability

Keeping poliwhirl alive was a good plan because it's fairly passive, but then you were down to just Chansey and Camerupt, plus Bayleef which was doing way less damage than I'd hope, and it suddenly became a terrifying threat that could tear through your team and ignore reflect. Incredibly played to make it past that, congrats!

Also frost over Chansey seems really good! I wonder if it could find use on a fortune team for guaranteed frostbite?

my #GumballTheory: new porygon evo porygon-3d, since gumball is the best pokemon so its surely … its the first pokemon in tectonic with a gif sprite. it looks like <- this but its a png of porygon. normal/steel type. thats the bit i dont have ideas for what it would actually do
