If you do the gauntlet and then talk to the female scientist she will give you the mission, this mission will not check for the completion so is permanent active and never completed, is impossible to active the check if you got the reward or talk to the girl again

yeah I imagine the issue is there isnt a second event page for her that happens after beating the gauntlet

Yeah some missions have this issue
I can't really help because i am using an older save and that breaks things even more
But this one is a different example

Maybe the scientist should just not let you go through at all if you dont have the quest yet
that would fix this instantly lol

she just needs another page on the event that triggers after completing the quest, regardless of the quest log
so you cant accidentally start it without being able to complete it
