Go to your video settings (escape -> options -> video settings) following:
Use VBOS: ON

Then, in the Performance tab, change the following:

Smart Animations: ON
Render Regions: ON
Smooth FPS: OFF
Smooth World: OFF
Fast Render: OFF (It does help with FPS, but it breaks so many features in mods that you should really not turn it on, unless you want half of your mods to break)
Fast Math: OFF (since this breaks things more than it helps)

Run /patcher (ingame, of course) and mess with the settings. A full list of its settings can be found here: https://github.com/LizzyMaybeDev/Patcher-Explanation

If you have 4GB or less RAM in your computer, go to your SkyClient profile in the installations tab in the vanilla launcher, click Advanced Settings, and in the JVM Arguments box, replace -Xmx3G with -Xmx2G
