@median elk quick question, did you do a solo run to test Skytils with no features enabled?

median elk
#

not a solo but a full 5 stack

#

i have barely any features enabled now and only about 10% of games get the cpu heat issue

#

i disabled death counter, copy fail message and hide wither miner names

strong oxide
#

my original thought was the terrible while loop that just eats cpu but that'd be consistent

median elk
#

i have my old config folders so i can replace them and try to get it to heat up

#

but id rather not ruin a random pf lobbies f7 run to test it

strong oxide
median elk
#

true

#

well now the old config just makes me have fps issues but no cpu temp issues

#

i made a new config for skytils though so i will swap them out to the newer one that caused the issue

strong oxide
#

Oh btw, you said "newest version" but what exact version is it

median elk
#

1.10.6

strong oxide
#

okay epic you know how to update mods

#

But yea cpu heat is usually related to cpu usage, so if you run a spark profile it might show what is wasting cpu usage

#

https://spark.lucko.me/ > download whatever thing you need > Launch game > go into dungeon > check if issues, if yes: /spark profiler start

I think

#

actually wtf it doesn't have 1.8.9 on that page?

median elk
#

i had to finish the run i did
ive had this issue ever since the update after 1.9.8 on skytils and i saw i had no changes in cpu usage

#

ill install that and get the second skytils config pack

#

inb4 ratted via skytils support lol

strong oxide
#

that'd be funny

#

By any chance are you rich? :)

#

but yea no if you get ratted from that link you got ratted via skytils owner/co-owner idk which one they are

median elk
#

term and claymore but i have basically no money cause i get money via rngs

strong oxide
#

omg epic @indigo grove will give solution

indigo grove
#

Websocket acting up again?

median elk
#

anyway yea im on the second config that made me have issues after removing first config

#

and i got spark too

strong oxide
median elk
#

this has been happening since 1.9.8 update

#

but 1.9.8 broke recently so i had to switch

strong oxide
#

do you happen to have a github account?

median elk
#

in shouldnt

#

i*

#

also the run im recording has heat issues so

strong oxide
#

sad but ig it's fine

#

recording as in spark? :D

median elk
#

yea

strong oxide
#

epic!

#

I think it gives you link once you stop it

#

/sparkc profiler stop

if you could already send it that'd be epic, probably has enough data

median elk
strong oxide
#

this is absolutely suprising

median elk
#

been like that

#

any cpu temp reader says 78+ when it happens

#

fans spin up crazy too

strong oxide
#

It could be that your I'm guessing laptop just overcompensates for some reason?

median elk
#

im on a pc

strong oxide
#

(I've never seen someone check cpu temps on a pc ngl, usually only laptop)

median elk
#

ryzen 7 7800x3d
4-6 gigs dedicated to mc
motherboard sorta good

strong oxide
#

gpu?

#

or integrated

median elk
#

4070 ti S

#

shouldnt be overcompensating

strong oxide
median elk
#

i see

#

though i dont know if lowering it will change the cpu temps

strong oxide
#

uhh maybe I'm tripping and it never showed it before, but the profiler doesn't show your gpu, you aren't running mc on integrated graphics right?

median elk
#

my main monitor where mc runs is on my real gpu

#

so it shouldnt

#

only if its on my second

#

which it isnt

strong oxide
#

in f3 menu it shows your gpu right?

median elk
#

yea

#

ive checked and gpu temps dont rise and usage doesnt either

#

its just cpu temps that rise

indigo grove
#

Have we tried turning off the websocket

strong oxide
#

I mean websocket would be the issue if cpu usage is kinda big I think

#

Cause there it just starves the cpu of resources

#

but yea ig that's the only valid option left I think

#

@median elk put -Dskytils.websocketURL=localhost in your jvm args, it should just crash the websocket and if it was the issue that should fix it

median elk
#

i lowered my ram to 5 gigs and i got a run where i didnt have heat issues but ill try that

#

90% chance coincidence but eh

#

ccrash also no issues on heat

#

2 runs with no issues so prolly fixed it

strong oxide
#

I just realized why it probably didn't show in the spark report, cause it runs on a different thread and the report only shows the main minecraft thread

median elk
#

i may have gotten lucky but if i do get cpu heat again ill get spark and notify
