Based on your vague and also (to me) confusing wording, that's working as intended?

Ah I explained it wrong, in the settings option the background on each pet should show the rarity background (so yellow for legendary, purple for epic, blue for rare etc.) but it is not doing that for most of my pets but it is only doing that for my mythic jerry pet (pinkish color background). I cant get it to work for some reason.

I have tried removing and adding it again (pets) and turning on and off the setting but that hasnt fixed it
