There’s a button in the pets menu to toggle favouriting

Also make sure the favourited pet colour is a colour that’s visible

how do i selecct a pet as a favorite with the toggle thing?

You should be able to click the favourite button then click the pet

if i clicck the favorite button it becoems orange and stays that way until i click it again. doesnt matter if i select a pet or not

Sorry I’m not sure, its always worked for me
Try copying your skytils config folder to your desktop, delete the one in your minecraft folder and launch the game and try favouriting again
