This happens everytime I start up the game

the problem is

Skytils v1.3.0-pre4 is already in my mods folder

#

and, when I join hypixel and click on the Daily Reward person, I crash. the crash message tells me it had trouble rendering the menu and is a skytils issue

Ok, I checked Essential settings and can't find anything on auto updater

the only thing even remotely related is Auto Refresh Session

I'll disable it since it wasn't necessary much anyway - but it seems to mainly be an neu issue like you previously mentioned. I downloaded a new unofficial release today, bc I'm sure you know moulberry retired, and I'm having problems, so I'll redirect myself over there

I won't worry about the auto updater bc it is usually useful and it trying to update the pre4 should go away once a new version releases
