if you're crashing after launching the game, then try using 1.2.5 from #Releases (if you haven't tried that version yet)

When you crash, I believe there should be a button that says "Show crash report"

Possible Solutions:

Try deleting the screenshot-checksum-caches.json file in .minecraft/essential
