Hello, I am running '0.8.6-beta-docker-vaapi' on my Synology DS920+ (which has QSV functionality works fine with plex etc), I've followed the set up guide, however when I go to play the channel in Plex, I get the following error messages dumped out to the console

okay seems like it works when ersatztv's Channel's streaming more is MPEG-TS, however plex reports it as transcoding, hoping to get direct play working

The Channel is set to HLS Direct, and under Settings I have HLS Direct Output Format set to MPEG-TS, this doesn't work, but should...?

Changing the Mode in the Channel to MPEG-TS, seems to be allowing for direct streaming, i've checked my iphone, going to check the shield and my mac next

No, HLS direct will not work with Plex. Plus, the hdhomerun emulator in etv requires mpeg-ts streaming mode, and it forces that mode with all hdhr clients

So changing the channel setting will have no effect

If it's working intermittently it may be a content problem

thanks for the response, yeah it's working on everything now with Channel = mpeg-ts, except for plex installed on my mac (but i've always had problems with that)

most importantly it's direct streaming to the shield

playing the channel in plex on the mac app throws the "error when loading first segment ... /iptv/sessions/2/live000107.ts

added some new episodes and the errors have come back...

please turn on ffmpeg troubleshooting reports

and try again, then check the reports in etv's config folder / ffmpeg-reports subfolder

that one doesn't show anything wrong - is there another one from around the same time? when you play to plex there are two transcode processes

might also be worth switching from qsv to vaapi, it's less finicky
