The Six Aspects, the Gods, and Their Champions

The gods draw their power from the six aspects. No one knows if the Aspects created the Gods or the Gods created the Aspects. Within each Aspect, there are multiple Gods, but one of those Gods always directly represents the Aspect, and that "Prime God" holds power over the other Gods in that Aspect. Each God has a title that communicates their temperament and domain. Corresponding with each God is a Champion. In the current epoch of history, these Champions are mostly dead, or at least presumed dead. The living Champions are very elderly. Some of the classes available to players were founded by one of these Champions.

Gods of the Fire Domain

[Fire] Rajdo the Undying
As Prime God of the Aspect of Fire, Rajdo lives in every flame across all of Adrullan, from the barest flickering candle to the mightiest conflagration. Her followers practice passionate expression and renewal through sacred destruction. It is said that a disciple of Rajdo will manifest a tongue of flame on their brow when they are serving her true will, allowing them to pass through fire unharmed.

[Sun] Rytren the Dessicator
As the God of the Sun, Rytren bakes and burns Adrullan with his mighty rays. His followers believe that Rytren provides for the deprived, coating themselves in dust from head to toe and traveling with the sun so that the day is twice as long. Known as the Wandering Order of the Parched, the enlightened members of Rytren’s nomadic church can go years without a sip of water.

[Industry] Ballast the Wheel
As the God of Industry, Ballast grinds, melts, and beats the natural world of Adrullan into machinery, architecture, and wealth. His followers believe that the profit motive is the highest form of morality, and zealously despise the indigent. Followers of Ballast practice no formal religious rituals as this would reduce their profit margins and productivity.

Gods of the Earth Domain

[Earth] Yanus the Mantle
As Prime God of the Aspect of Earth, the heart of Yanus inhabits all entities of the earth, from the smallest grain of sand, to the largest mountain peak. Yanus is believed to have roared with bestial fury at the creation of the world, triggering massive earthquakes which formed the mountains and valleys of Adrullan. The followers of Yanus worship the earth and all the bounty it provides, believing the land to be the beginning and the end of all life: "All cometh from the Earth and All returneth to the Earth".

[Nature] Fenla the Wild
Fenla is the goddess of all the lands of Adrullan not tamed by the civilized races. To the uninitiated, she represents the terrifying mystery of the unknown forest. To her followers, the natural untouched woods and fields are the sanctified body of Fenla. The flora and fauna of the world is said to have been created from her blood which, after piercing her thumb with the hunting knife Fencrys, she did sprinkle on the land, and from the limitless pools of blood sprung plants and animals of infinite variety.

[Seasons] Tibolt the Warden
Many hunters in the wilds of Adrullan have woven tales of seeing the God Tibolt wandering through the forest with his walking stick, bestrided by his familiar, the wolf Lykos. Tibolt is the protector of the forest, and the God of the Hunt. It is believed that the flight of every hunter's arrow is decided by his will, and that Tibolt painted the feet of all the beasts of Adrullan so that they could be tracked as game. The right to fell a beast and feed one's kin is by the grace of Adrullan; and all hunters give thanks to him upon returning with kill over their shoulders.

Gods of the Air Domain

[Air] Sumuliss the Wind
Sumuliss rides the winds that gust and dance across the face of Adrullan. Her followers are the fleet-footed messengers, the far-traveling explorers, and the cunning riders of the gale. They seek to master the ever-changing currents of the world, both literal and metaphorical, always moving with purpose and grace.

[Insects] Chitteryx the Swarm
Chitteryx, God of Insects, manifests as a writhing mass of chitinous bodies. Devotees of the Swarm embrace the power of the collective, working tirelessly like ants in a colony. They believe that through their united efforts, they can achieve feats impossible for the individual.

[Peace] Anatma the Unwanting
As the Goddess of Peace, Anatma embodies the serenity of a life free from desire. Her followers strive to release themselves from the shackles of want and need, finding contentment in simplicity and tranquility. Through meditation and self-reflection, they seek to attain Anatma's state of perfect peace.

Gods of the Water Domain

[Water] Vexx the Flood
Vexx, the God of Water, is as changeable as the tides and as powerful as a tsunami. Those who worship the Flood respect the life-giving nature of water, but also fear its potential for destruction. They strive to emulate the adaptability of water, flowing around obstacles and carving their own paths.

[Moon] Celtrious the Tide
Celtrious governs the moon and the tides, exerting a subtle but profound influence on the world. Followers of the Tide believe in the cyclical nature of all things, seeing in the moon's phases and the ocean's ebb and flow a reflection of life's own rhythms.

[Rot] Mortas the Decomposed
Mortas presides over the necessary decay that fuels new growth. Devotees of the Decomposed understand that death and decay are integral parts of the cycle of life. They do not fear the end, but rather embrace it as a chance for renewal and transformation.

Gods of the Light Domain

[Light] Hadrius the Blinding
Hadrius, God of Light, shines with an intensity that both illuminates and obscures. Followers of the Blinding Light seek truth and enlightenment, but understand that too much illumination can be searing. They walk a path of balance, using light to guide but never to burn.

[Justice] Alder the Scale
Alder's immutable gaze falls upon all of Adrullan, weighing the souls of the living and the dead. His followers are the arbiters and the adjudicators, the ones who strive to maintain balance in a world often tipped towards inequity. They mete out Alder's unflinching judgment, ensuring that all receive their due, be it reward or punishment.

[Love] Philos the Ardent
Philos, the God of Love, burns with a passion that can warm the coldest heart. Followers of the Ardent embrace love in all its forms, from the platonic to the romantic. They believe that through love, they can forge unbreakable bonds and heal even the deepest wounds.

[Hope] Ayda the Dawn
Ayda, Goddess of Hope, rises each morning with the promise of a new day. Devotees of the Dawn find in Ayda a constant reminder that no night is eternal, and that even in the darkest times, a new beginning awaits. They spread hope wherever they go, acting as beacons in the darkness.

Gods of the Dark Domain

[Dark] Oberos the Eclipse
Oberos, God of Darkness, holds sway over the shadows that creep and the night that falls. Followers of the Eclipse understand the fear of darkness and harness the shadows primal influence. They embrace the mysteries and secrets that lurk in the deepest corners of Adrullan.

[Deceit] Thornwise the Dissembler
Thornwise, the embodiment of Deceit, weaves a web of lies and misdirection. Devotees of the Dissembler understand that truth is a malleable thing, and that sometimes a well-placed lie can serve a greater purpose. They navigate the world with silver tongues and quick wits.

[Hate] Godrix the Despised
Godrix, the God of Hate, simmers with an eternal, seething rage. Followers of the Despised understand the power of hatred, how it can be honed into a weapon or used as a shield. They channel their anger into strength, using it to crush their enemies.

[Fear] Grixius the Whisper
Grixius is the voice in the back of your mind that warns of danger lurking around every corner. Devotees of the Whisper understand that fear is a survival mechanism, and that by embracing it, they can overcome it. They use fear as a tool, wielding it against their enemies.

[War] Zegrath the Barbarian
Zegrath, the God of War, revels in the chaos of the battlefield. Followers of the Barbarian embrace the thrill of combat, finding glory and purpose in the clash of arms. They are fierce warriors, living for the fight and the honor it brings.

[Death] Zarina the Kiss of Death
Zarina, Goddess of Death, is the final whisper that all mortals hear in the end. Devotees of the Kiss understand that death is the great equalizer, that all must one day face Zarina's embrace. They do not fear the end, but rather strive to meet it, bringing their enemies along for the ride.

I am unclear when it comes to the taxonomy and hierarchy being described.

There are six aspects, but then the chart in the first post has as its leftmost column "Aspect" and each god has its own, it seems. This may just be a formatting error, though.

In the remaining posts, the concept of domains is brought in, which... is the same as the aspect? Like, the Fire Domain is composed of all the gods that belong to the Aspect of Fire, and whose prime god is Rajdo?

I suppose I can't wrap my head around what the domain is describing that the aspect is not, especially since it is clearly stated in other lore that there are six aspects.

Past my confusion, I dig this! I was wondering how there were more than six gods and six aspects, and this neatly explains that all. It is very cool, that there is a hierarchy within an aspect/domain, which I am sure will flow into gameplay as it establishes a raising of stakes should we ever battle gods.

Some friendly feedback: Zarina the Kiss of Death is a bit wordy and on the nose, since her title contains her domain. Additionally, every other god has a punchy one-word title that flows better. I do suppose it fits the theme and feminine anthropomorphization of death, with her kiss bearing it.

A clever angle may instead be Zarina the Widow, which maintains the theme of death and femininity. It even maintains the concept of her embracing mortals and her followers, only for them to perish and leave her alone, a widow. I think there is room for some interesting lore as to why she even has this title, and everyone is riveted by a story of love and heartbreak.
