an alternative I am considering is to provide a PEP 723 compliant script that can be run from a URL with pipx – the compilation of suitesparse and sundials is not meant for beginners, and a helpful script that can be hosted on a website or from GitHub (pipx can run URLs as far as I am aware) would be pretty great to simplify users' installation requirements
