Extendable bridges

Small walkways that can be extended between two raised areas, or over various hazards (lava, pits, etc), and that can either be persistent, or linked to a specific shape/fragment.

linking this to water level would work as an alternative to the long-standing request for floating bridges

I wonder if this suggestion could be combined with this one (one could be a variant of the other)
