Might be hard to implement, but a state that makes the players controls reversed. Similar to the Poes in wind waker. could be caused by a specific enemy or have a projectile dedicated to it.
If there were a projectile version it could have effects on enemies as well:
-Slumberwing: Flies within a much smaller range
-Shellshot: Fires projectiles backwards
-Slink/Slither: Charge at random whether it sees a player or not
-Clutch Claw: Can only move side to side
-Twitchbone: Jumps toward player when attacked
-Squirm(And Lyrm): Circle in place
-Goozer/Goozling: Hop around in random directions
-Spikadillo: Rolls at random whether it sees a player or not
-Zorb: The projectile it fires is random
-Minic: Walks in place before exploding
-Freezlide: Roams in random directions instead of pursuing the player
-Shadow[Player]: Moves around randomly and attacks at random (So it kinda looks like a player confused by the control change)
-Golmec: Hops in random directions
-Lunarc: Wanders aimlessly (Still swings at player when they are nearby) [this one probably couldn't be caused unless it was a variant]
-Zorbius: fires projectiles in random directions
(I don't expect it to happen, especially to enemies. but it was fun to theorize Confused/Possessed states for them anyway)
