The Mongols enslaved the Russians and massacred several Slavic peoples, now tell me how would they have helped us? Furthermore, we defended you from the Muslims long before the Mongols arrived. The Franks under Charlemagne played an essential role in this. Furthermore, Muslims have not been a significant problem for us since the fall of the caliphate, with the exception of the Turks, the only people who managed to settle in the Balkans until the early twentieth century; they were expelled en masse after the first Balkan war. In the end Europe managed to survive on its own without anyone's help

Around 1262 or 1263, the Mamluk leader Baibars attempted an attack on Antioch, but the principality was saved by Mongol intervention.[42] In later years the Mongols were not able to offer as much support. In 1264–1265 the Mongols were able to attack only the frontier fort of al-Bira. In 1268 Baibars completely overran the rest of Antioch, ending the 170-year-old principality.[43][44]

In 1271, Baibars sent a letter to Bohemond threatening him with total annihilation and taunting him for his alliance with the Mongols:

Emperor Michael VIII Palaiologos, after re-establishing Byzantine Imperial rule, established an alliance with the Mongols.

He signed a treaty in 1266 with the Mongol Khan of the Kipchak (the Golden Horde),[9] and he married two of his daughters (conceived through a mistress, a Diplovatatzina) to Mongol kings: Euphrosyne Palaiologina, who married Nogai Khan of the Golden Horde, and Maria Palaiologina, who married Abaqa Khan of Ilkhanid Persia.[10]

After 1295, Andronikos II offered Ghazan a marital alliance, in exchange for Mongol help to fight against the Turcomans at the Oriental frontier of the Byzantine Empire. Ghazan accepted the offer and promised to stop the incursions.[14] The death of Ghazan in 1304 was mourned by the Byzantines.[15]

This alliance would continue under Ghazan's successor, Oljeitu. In 1305, Ilkhan Oljeitu promised Andronikos II 40,000 men, and in 1308 dispatched 30,000 men to recover many Byzantine towns in Bithynia.[16] Andronicus II gave daughters in marriage to Toqta, as well as his successor Uzbek (1312–1341),[12] but relations turned sour at the end of Andronikos's reign and the Mongols mounted raids on Thrace between 1320 and 1324, until the Byzantine port of Vicina Macaria was occupied by the Mongols.

Your Alexander " the great" invasion was as savage and barbaric as the Mongols invasion.
But, europeans like to have fake mental and moral superiority over the others

thorn lagoon
#

But the man known as Alexander the Great was also one of history’s worst monsters. He was a murderous, rage-filled, paranoid, alcoholic, religious fanatic who, on at least one occasion, showed a fondness for what today might be considered necrophilia. He murdered often, at times indiscriminately. He assassinated rivals a dozen at a time, slaughtered innocents by the thousands, and exterminated entire tribes of people. It’s no exaggeration to say that Alexander killed off a generation of Macedonian officers—veterans he needed to run the army he inherited from his father, Philip. Nor were friends and family spared; within days of taking the throne, he killed Philip’s most recent wife and her new infant.

Some of the most fundamental ideas and technologies in the world—papermaking, printing, and gunpowder manufacturing, among many others—made their way across Asia via the Silk Road. Migrants, merchants, explorers, pilgrims, refugees, and soldiers brought along with them their disparate religious and cultural ideas and domesticated animals, plants, flowers, vegetables, and fruit as they joined this gigantic cross-continental exchange. As historian Ma Debin describes it, the Silk Road was the original melting pot, the lifeline of the Eurasian continent.

#

Knowledge of gunpowder spread rapidly throughout Asia and Europe, possibly as a result of the Mongol conquests during the 13th century, with written formulas for it appearing in the Middle East between 1240 and 1280 in a treatise by Hasan al-Rammah, and in Europe by 1267 in the Opus Majus by Roger Bacon.

# sonic lion I would feel repulsed to be in that situation and I also don’t feel anything fro...

Yeah I understand. But the repulsion feeling happens if you have a very negative view towards it or you had something traumatizing happen to you in life, especially involving anything sexual. I still do think that if you find the right person that you deeply love, that feeling towards sex can easily change. For example, I know of a fair deal of women who have almost non existent sex drives, until they get into an actual loving relationship, and soon, their sex drive really spikes. I do believe that plays a role in your situation

# sonic lion There’s no such a thing as a right person, you guys are too romantic

And my response to that, when I say the right person, I don’t mean that one right person out of billions of people worldwide. That’s not what I meant. There could be thousands of right people for you. Who knows. I’m just saying if you found someone you’re deeply in love with, your repulsive feelings can easily change. That’s all

sonic lion
dapper laurel
# thorn lagoon In what sense ?

To make you understand how important physical appearance is: would you kill a cockroach or a butterfly? Killing the butterfly would not be socially accepted, you would be considered a bad person, on the other hand, if you kill the cockroach, you'll be considered as a hero. Morality has aesthetic standards

It’s not really something that can just happen, I know. Like anyone can say it to you and it won’t change much. I’m aware of that. But also, you haven’t been in that situation to actually feel non-repulsed or even to enjoy it. That’s why I’m saying in the future, if you meet someone you’re super close with for a few years and absolutely adore, then those feelings of repulsion will probably go away. That won’t happen anytime soon, but in the future. BELIEVEEE
