C/C++ are low level languages that means they are close to hardware and can be used to handle memory.. whereas C# is High level language which means you cannot allocate memory by yourself, C# will do it for you.. C/C++ is used in os programming, embedded system like microwave, cars, refrigerator, washing machine etc as it is close to hardware.. C# on other hand will enable you to make android apps, desktop apps, games, web backend etc

#

In game development 2 languages are used.. C++ and C#.. there is a game engine called Unity, which provides support for C# for you to develop games.. and there is another engine called Unreal engine which provides support for C++ to develop games

#

mostly C++ and C# are used for developing heavy duty games.. no other language is used, not even C

#

But C# is simple

Thnx

Thnx for taking time to explain the whole concept

wooden hazel
#

hi, C# is very different from C and C++. When I was interested in C# many years ago, the C# code was being compiled to some intermediate code which is not machine code. C and C++ compiles into machine code which is the fastest.

#

C# is more like Java sort of thing.

#

If you learn C language you can learn C++. However this will not help if you want to do C# 😉

#

Or you can start with C#, but then you will have problems with C and C++ 😉

#

It is just very different way of coding and thinking.

Hi folks. I’ve been learning Java for a while .. there are some topics from intermediate lvl I would still like to study on before jumping into spring boot and related stuff. Maybe some of you are in a similar position? It would be really nice to get together from time to time and figure out some stuff, practice git collaboration and much more. what kind of math do you guys use in programming?

strange shard

it depends about problems

wise flower

I'm studying computer science but I have no idea what I'm doing now

what topic do you studying?

#

for instance for IA you should best level for math

wise flower
#

i think that i would to be a software engineer

i'n know basic's math, i've been developer many apps for diferents context

#

don't worries

#

do you know programming?

cosmic vine
cosmic vine
strange shard

yes i liked, i loved programming

Java, C#

cosmic vine
#

What do you use Java and C# for? I use them for data base programming.

so am i

actually use for developed api's

cosmic vine
#

Seriously? Amazing.

strange shard
#

yeah i have been developed in dot net

for 15 yeard

years*

cosmic vine
#

When I program in C#, I use SQL commands to interact with the data base

strange shard
#

do you use entity framewrok?

it's a ORM tool

based in OOP for translate relational schemas

cosmic vine

No, I don't use entity framework yet.

I'm in the third semester of computing engineer college.

you are design a database directly

right*

see that

you can connect for some databases

it's the same jdbc if you programming on java

i loved java but in my job we use dot net

#

programming its about resolve many problem, not everything it's math

mighty robin
#

like i consider myself very bad at math, i would not stand a chance if my problem required anything really complex, even now i use the search engine to help me with my math when i need it

wise flower
#

Now, I've no idea about what I choose for my future, I'm literally lost in it

mighty robin
#

anything you'd like to do

#

Math is useful, and a lot of times i see how bad i am at it and how id wish i had been better, but i go on without being good, if you can study it and you want to study it then feel free, because it teaches you a lot of things that i am possibly even unaware of

wise flower
#

I would give a try for any type of complex but I can't focus on only one thing, I used to drop at many languages then learning those again and just dropping those for more

mighty robin
#

different languages serve different purposes

#

pick what you wanna develop/do and stick to it, if desktop apps then desktop apps and thats the end

mighty robin
wise flower
mighty robin
#

pick one thing and study one thing

wise flower
mighty robin
#

have clear reasons why exactly this thing

#

see yourself in it, and think about it, like if you wanna be a cyber security specialist then notice how many things you could do that the other people wouldnt be able to do

#

like i guess i could conceive of some very "venerable" and sublime and whatever arguments, but at the end of the day its simple, you choose thing, you do this thing

#

doesnt matter how old you are or anything, you do you

wise flower
#

thank you

#

I always think that people can do what I do, even better

mighty robin
#

but kinda doesnt matter

#

if they wanna do what i do then make me stop doing what i do and replace me

#

no one will replace me tho, because they do their thing and i do my thing, there is a lot of job vacancies even if hard to get at first

#

i wont even mention freelance cuz it is an option as well

wise flower
#

after all, maybe I'm just a bit negative, thanks for your advices

mighty robin
#

i used to be negative too but

#

but there is no reason, like be postive cuz then other people are also positive

In general yes, C++ has more options to write fast software, but also in general, Java could be fast and in some cases Java can even outperform C++ using JIT compilation

fervent shell

# fervent shell Can you give examples these specific cases?

You can read it on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just-in-time_compilation . This section: "In addition, it can in some cases offer better performance than static compilation, as many optimizations are only feasible at run-time"

In computing, just-in-time (JIT) compilation (also dynamic translation or run-time compilations) is compilation (of computer code) during execution of a program (at run time) rather than before execution. This may consist of source code translation but is more commonly bytecode translation to machine code, which is then executed directly. A syst...

# vestal temple Is BCA is a good option after 12th grade?

I recently graduated in BCA,
Prefer to pursue b.tech from IIT or NIT if you can't then MCA is equivalent to b.tech
For which you can do BCA
BCA itself doesn't really has much value when it comes to apply for big tech companies
So learn and skill up in BCA and pursue MCA from NIT for on campus opportunities

What is difference between compiler and interpreted?

shy glade
wooden hazel
#

The difference is that languages like C/C++ are compiled into machine code - processor instructions executed at very high rate (MHz or GHz). Interpreted languages are executed slower, because at run time they get parsed and executed, which is slower than executing machine code. For example PHP.

queen urchin
queen urchin
# shy glade What is difference between compiler and interpreted?

The main difference is, a compiler translates the entire source code into machine code or bytecode, which can be executed independently. An interpreter executes the code line by line without prior translation.
There are other key differences in performance, portability, debugging and etc.

queen urchin

JavaScript has a more flexible and forgiving syntax compared to Python, which can make it easier to get started with. On the other hand, Python has a clean and straightforward syntax that emphasizes code readability, making it easier to understand and learn.

# shy glade Guys, is it hard to start programming?

There is no definitive answer to that question; it depends on various factors. However, from my perspective, if you have a desire to do something, it's best not to question whether it is difficult or not. Instead, focus on what you can gain by taking action. Just go for it, and you will discover the answers along the way.

# sharp folio Hello, I want to go to the backend, which language is better to choose?

it depends on your programming experience and your goal...

what languages do you already know?
what is your goal?

let's say you know python, then i would suggest to go with a python web framework if it satisfies your needs... it's not necessary for python to be here, it could be java too with spring boot..... and tons of examples you just need to research a bit...

if your goal is to achieve blazingly fast backends then i would suggest to go with a low level language and a simple web framework...... some examples could be rust and rocket framework, c++ and crowcpp and tons of examples..... but development would definitely be harder in them compared to the frameworks and idea we mentioned and i wouldn't suggest to use this as your only languages/frameworks for the backend unless you just need speed or some parts of your application needs to be blazingly fast

Nah, He learned Python and now he was asking which language should I learn now, And without any purpose or a goal why just randomly pick a language and start learning it? Instead, build some projects using Python and apply what you have learned so far, But if you are just getting started with programming, you should learn the basics first and not just pick random programming languages and start learning them. And let's be honest learning multiple programming languages won't make you a better programmer if you are not good at problem-solving.
