Okay, finished the game, I liked it a lot, but there are quite a few friction points to fix.

  • By far the first is the DNA shop, it's only accessible through the main menu which gives the impression it's optional even though it's crucial for beating the game and particularly getting past the difficulty spike at level 4. It's very easy to forget about it and wonder what DNA is for.

  • Second is the DNA economy. So I maxed out the DNA rewards, and now the DNA drops are completely useless, no bonus xp, bonus win xp, tokens, nothing visible

  • Third is of course the damn diamond that counter-intuitively gives you invincibility. Known issue, moving on.

  • We need tag filters in the deckbuilding, for the obvious reason that there are cards that buff tagged cards, as well as many challenges asking for tagged cards.

  • The cursor is easily lost. Like for real it's hard to aim with many enemies around and the slime liking to walk around the cursor. Sometimes the slime gets lost too. Also maybe there shouldn't be a visible cursor when there aren't any cards that ask for it.

  • The game is chugging with many enemies.

The challenges are really good, though limited by the level selection, since level 4 is the only one long enough and easy enough to do them aside from the challenge requirements. More of these challenges would still be very welcome, they don't need any reward aside from an achievement, just stuff to keep doing, as the achievements left for me to do are to grind certain enemy types.

which is actually a point

  • there is rarely a good reason to have more than the min requirement cards per tier, since we are working with random chance and we want 9-of-a-kind it doesn't make sense to have more items in the pool than required

+1 for tag filters, I really wanted that, especially when trying to unlock stuff that needed specific tags in use.

Cursor issue was another annoying one, maybe a cursor shake or hot key can scale the cursor up briefly to locate it, or a bright line from the slime to the cursor.

I'm also +1ing the tag filters because it would help in finding out if you have all the cards of a tag unlocked. Especially given some unlocks requires you to have all cards of a tag equipped and maxed out.

Update:

And an update came, cursor now looks way more visible, good job, a few more DNA shop items, doesn't fix the fundamental issue, but still more things to spend DNA on before 100%ing. Not getting as many chugs now, but it's probably because my slime is so OP now that even lvl10 can't deal with my damage output

Oh also, the new dna abilities are good, one of which half fixes the dna barrel issue, as now there is a reason to pick them up despite not needing dna
