How do I mod skins and UI stuff (like diff icons) for the game?

Hi, found this discord from game banana. I'm trying to search around for how to do like the title says. This would be my first steps into modding for DBD. I find myself not too interested in the game overall but I want to be and figure maybe some mods for different skins would help that since I can't afford much for the game rn.

Looking around and trying to find tutorial vids the only thing ppl keep pointing toward is some discord server to download a Pak Bypass, buuut something just seems a bit off and fishy to me about it since most of these vids are using blatant hacks or just don't really focus on the idea of simply replacing skins but going for stretching the resolution, old animations, or some other junk I'm not too interested in. The only other vid I saw that didn't go to a different discord for that bypasser was one saying just make a pakchunk folder in one of the folders for the game's directory

Issue there, some skin I wanna use off the bat from gamebanana (ghost face meg skin) isn't in a pak but more a 7z file that goes on to putting own content n'stuff

Usually I would ask this on steam discussions or elsewhere, but reddit is annoying and steam discussions is like a reverse think tank, and since this server is basically sponsored by gamebanana then, yeaaa lol. Thanks in advance! ❤️

You can no longer mod the live game

You can however play older versions, devbuild, private server

1. Game banana mods only work on older builds of the game (5.6.2 and earlier)

2. You need the private server to use mods. The pak bypass method can and will get you permabanned if you're not careful, whereas the Private Server has zero documented cases of people getting banned over it.

To get started, go to #faq and look at the Private Server guides.

3. Could you clarify on the Ghostface Meg mod? Like, does it say when it was made, or if there is a pak file within it?

4. The subreddit will ban you for talking about modding or looking through the game's files.

Only question I got left I guess is that, is the PAK Bypass thing kinda worrying? Not going to use it just curious if my assumption was right on it

The PAK bypass is just very, very risky. It's also mostly used by cheaters

Also I believe you need to pack that mod yourself, but I could be wrong
