Last month i got a exos2 gt, but issues with the gear box happened to happen, so i managed to get a refund.
For that money I have been looking into getting either a normal ragdoll 17 or the 17 pro, but I am unsure if the difference between the normal 17 and the 17 pro is worth the price increase.
If there is any other good alternatives in the same price range of 12 - 1500 usd, with harmonic drive / strainwave, please let me know

There’s also the SAL-33(?) for $1,300ish. I think there’s a batch order system and waitlist though

Yeah looked at it, but from what i understood, the next batch will ship way far out in the future, and I am impatient, so i think the choice is between the pro and non pro

If you can spare the $200? upgrade for the Pro, imo go for it. You’re hopefully going to use the mount for years right? Better get the Pro now, and not have buyer’s regret in a year.
The $200 upgrade is cheaper than selling a base 17 for a 17 pro down the line
Having the peace of mind of the limits, home, and other differences made me feel more comfortable

Hijacking for a moment, have you tried the alt az mode for visual by chance? Been eyeing the pro and i cant find much info for the altaz mode

nah I haven’t tried it. I’m not a big visual guy, and I’m too lazy to swap the modes.

The PE is better so it tracks better under bad seeing… I think that’s what it does
And it has the physical sensors so the mount always knows where it is despite what the software says

yea, just wanted to be sure. Since my exos used db9 cable, that i had to order. But i do have guiding setup etc
