hmmm might try tomorrow
I'm pretty sure you need to do HDR to make the galaxies have any details
Don't ask me how to do that though, idk how but I vaguely remember something about pixinsight? You can ask my friend @brittle viper he's still asleep tho
I tried that, I think I might just not be good at processing 😭
33 hours is a bit overkill imo too 🙏
I'm actually imaging m81 and M82 right now
yeah i know i wanted to see how much i could get
seestar collective gets a boatload of hours so i thought it would help
Seestar collective? What's that
basically a group of seestar owners that put all of their data together to make one big super image
its pretty cool
yeah they just got about 300 hours of m81 and 82 data
Aw man the clouds just came in 💔
DAMN
im excited to see what comes out of it
idk tho i might get rid of the s50 and get an s30 pro instead cuz im ngl i really dont like the zoomed in fov of the s50
I think it's fine
You can always do a mosaic
Or even a panel by panel one (although you would have to do it manually which is tedious I bet)
I was gonna get the s30 at first but then I got the s50
and the seestar app mosaic is weird
yeah idk i would only do it if i can manage to sell the s50
might just go for a dedicated rig 😭
You're gonna have to at some point 🤷♂️
i did just get a nice raise
I couldn't even stack the subframes for this myself just because of how weird the way they take the mosaic is
yeah i genuinly dont understand why they do it like that
Just do panels 😭
literally so innefficient to not do panels
Like damn who the hell thought "oh yea let's make it go in a spiral"
slew to a different location after every frame 😭
EQ mode is so good bro
Look at this amazing framing it got me
And no more field rotation too
yeah that is like the biggest upgrade you can do with a seestar
I got mine just recently and I've been having a lot of fun with it
I also had to get a powerbank to get it to run all night
yeah i think i just suck at processing
You will get better trust
As long as you keep taking and processing images you learn
nawww
dont
lol
Yeah I think I'm just crashing out lol
yeah ik i've processed some ifn m82 data
confirmed ifn around m81
really focused on the ifn but the galaxy looks cool!
Is it on discord?
are these ancient galaxies or denoising artifacts?
probably just stars tbf
didnt stretch the stars a lot so they very small
lol
yeah m82 is pretty bright
even with masks i wasnt able to evade the explosion lol
fr its hard to get it right
yeah fr
Ye
tried my best to get out most of cigars galaxies red out but kept over exposing the core
had a quick go, tried to get atleat some of the IFN to show but not really something I know how to do properly
It needs more data to not fry itself while you try to get IFN to show
heres my go at it
I neeeeed to know, How do you get the arms to be blue while the core is yellow 😭
I really like this one
idk if you’re being serious, bit hard to tell. if you are, i just put a mask on the starless image and then boosted the saturation. i did boost the luminance a bit. there was a less yellow color.
now that i see it again i should’ve left the luminance as it was
thanks!
How'd you process it? Siril or pix
pix
i used to used siril until i finally decided to take the plunge and buy pix. night and day difference
Sadly I am being serious 😔 but thanks for explaining I've never even used masks on my images (mostly bc idk how to but I'm sure I can do them in gimp)
you definitely can use them in gimp. when you do, make sure to just focus on the galaxy itself.
when you boost the saturation it’ll only boost it on the galaxy itself. without the mask it’ll boost is to the entire picture which will end up looking a lot different
Alright thanks for the help!! I'll try it out at some point
no problem! happy to help

I had a go at your file, and there is some IFN actually in your dataset. But what I can say is that you probably have some bad frames in the mix, as the overall stack feels "smooth" or lacking proper details, either due to bad seeing or some bad focused frames. But otherwise its a usable stack.
And a second version with a bit different approach
That is also dependand on how you do your color calibration, as that sets the whole color tone for the galaxy
yall are rly good at processiing i suck hahaha
brooo howwww?? 😭
is it even the same data?
its the stack shared by the OP yes
hey we were all there at one point, all you can do is get better and better. practice makes perfect
