Meade EXT 5in Mak for visual

Currently looking for an easily portable visual scope. Local astro club is selling this for 350 USD. Thats a pretty good deal, but I would like to hear other opinions. Goto fully works

The meade ETX series is quite a dumpster fire..

Its a cheap copy of the questar if you can call it that, however this is probably the best out of the lineup.

If its at your astroclub, ask if you can take it out for a field test and see for yourself how you like it. I personally wouldn't get it, but thats personal preference.

Looked through some Ed Ting reviews and yeah.. its not great.

The drive-base is worse than mediocre, focus shift is unavoidable and theyre quite literally made to be the "Questar for the poor"

What he put in the desc. of his ETX rating:

"Note: Just to be clear, I do not care for any of these telescopes. Buy one if you wish, but I think you'll be frustrated. The rankings are relative."
