Celestron Astromaster 130 for £50?

Hey I'm waiting for my seestar s50 which should come tomorrow or Tuesday, but I just saw this ad of a Celestron Astromaster 130 not far away from me. I've read that it's not a great telescope but should I still get it as it's only £50? I could try to get it even lower haha

If you are completely aware at how shit this thing is then by all means, but for 50 bucks you might aswell get yourself a neat pair of binoculars.

Just watched it. Ok it's not a good telescope haha 😅 although at the end he said that only get it if it's used for cheap

If they never even opened it that means it's in good condition

It's got a bigger aperture than anything else you can get in the price range

The mount is the most annoying part

I also have this mount, but I am using a 114p/500 Telescope, it works pretty well for me

Yea but it's ass at tracking because the geometry is literally just wrong and it wobbles like crazy when you look at it wrong. Your scope is significantly lighter though so that probably helps

Just try get a good balance, and a good polar alignment, than it’s fine, it’s only wobbles for me 2-3s

Yup i did but even then it's just kinda bad. As i said your scope is a lot lighter too so yea

@coral storm I modified the mount slightly, I tightened the screw behind it, which is hidden behind the cap and needs to be removed. The mount wobbles much less now.

I don’t know you want to take the risk but it did work good for me.

The slomotion control is also still working

Oh i didn't really think of it as a mod lol i saw it as maintenance

Mine got completely vibrated loose after a road trip
