Taken with a Skywatcher 130pds and sony a7s. Total exposure time 2 hours. First time with a coma corrector!

hell yeah

#

colors are off tho, bg is blue and gal is purple lol

Yeah I also used a CLS filter. It seems to help with contrast at the cost of some shifting colors and I haven't quite figured out how to compensate yet

#

There's also a noticable noise pattern that's really prominent, kinda like zebra stripes. To get a cleaner image would it be more beneficial to have more exposures or longer exposures?

ah yes walking noise

#

you need to dither to avoid it, but if you already have it then theres nothing you can do

What's spcc and bge? And is there anything besides dithering avoid getting walking noise? Is it a camera issue?

spcc is color calibration and bge is background extraction

#

what software did you use?

#

and yeah some cameras have a fixed noise pattern, so when your FOV drifts in a certain way, the noise gets smeared into walking noise

#

thats why dithering is so important, its really the only way

I use deep sky stacker to stack the initial image then bring it into photoshop to do the stretching and final look

#

Didn't know about dithering... I'll have to try that next time

I'm using a star adventurer GTI. Is there a way to do dithering with the synscan app? Everything I'm seeing online seems to point to "no" lol
