After saving to replace nearly every component in my setup over the summer, I have finally managed to finish my first mono image. I decided to go for a good SHO target as I had always wanted to shoot/process one so I decided to go for the Bubble Nebula. I wanted to go for a similar look in the Hubble Space Telescope photo of this target and I'm overall happy with how it turned out. Especially since this was shot from my bortle 9 backyard and it was my first SHO process ever. However, I'm hoping my images and processing can improve given this new beginning for me in my astro journey.

10" Orion f/4.7 newtonian modified w/ Baader Steeltrack focuser
Touptek 585m
Nexus 0.75x coma corrector
6.5nm Touptek SHO filters
Sii: 84 x 300s (7hrs)
Ha: 62 x 300s (5hrs)
Oiii: 86 x 300s (7hrs)
19hrs total integration
Bortle 9

Stacked and processed in PixInsight with RC astro plugins (blurxt, noisext, starxt) and Lightroom.

Excellent image, everything must be perfectly dialled in! Id say got could squeeze a bit more out of the data….The brightest part of the bubble is very slightly clipped to my eye and I also think you have scope for some further selective sharpening….great job

thank you! i think i did clip that bright area in the bubble a little bit, was a little tricky to work around that haha. I actually did do some selective sharpening but not much, I reckon you're right though, i probably could sharpen the higher snr areas a tad more!

You can make RGB'ish stars from sho/hoo stars
