Core of the NGC 7822, shot from my Bortle 5 backyard.

126 x 180" images, total integration 6 hours 18 minutes.

Telescope: Sky-Watcher Explorer 130PDS
Camera: Canon EOS 60 D
Filter: Optolong UHC
Controls: Asiair Mini
Guiding: Asi 120mm Mini + 50/180mm guide scope
Mount: Sky-Watcher EQM-35 Pro

Processed in Siril+GraXpert+Darktable

I'm really struggling with my processing, but managed to get decent nebulosity with somewhat minimal noise.

That's the best I can do at the moment, tips are welcomed 😄

Great image, love the diffraction spikes

#

I can also see some hints of background dust as well

#

Did you dither?

If your mount can take it try dithering more often

I'll dither every 2-3 subs, once I get my RMS better. Currently my errors are around 1-3" for RA and 1-2 for DEC... and I don't know how to improve it any more 😄

#

Sometimes it takes up to a minute for the mount to stabilize after dithering, so that's why I currently dither only every 5 subs

I had the same pattern noise with my DSLR and I found the best way to remove it is longer exposures to swamp read noise and dithering more often

#

But if your mount can't take it it'll harm more than benifit

#

Try tighten everything down in ur mount

#

That helped me alot

#

Like make sure the focuser on the guide scope is tight

#

The mount to tripod connection is tight

#

The PA screws should be tight

I guess I could do 300" exposures, at least on targets higher up on the sky. I could also dither more often, but it would require longer nights or multiple sessions to get enough light 😄

I guess I could try check the connections. The mount itself should be adjusted, but especially the guide connections could be more solid

First get the guiding down

I also need a dew heater... currently I'm strapping on single-use hand warmers with rubber bands 😂
