I've been really unpleased with the results my dslr delivered on emission-nebulas lately and finally got myself a mono-setup.I also had the luck of a few clear nights in a row now.
In comparison to the results i got with the dslr a month ago, Im blown away with what i managed to get now.

If I could give you some advice, ditch the F/7 accessory (I call it that because it does more harm than good), it reduces the optical performance of the C8 HD by over 30%, and blocks out a good chunk of your IR due to more glass.

And for your calibrations, during the day or a cloudy night, set your camera up in a garage or some colder room, and set it to your normal operating temperature that you do while imaging, and run 50 of each exposure you typically use for darks, then take 250 bias- fastest exposure possible, all at the same gain as lights.

make a master file for each one, and you'll be good for the rest of the year, all you'll need is flats.

I like the one on the right more, kinda gives off a HOO feel, I love how the soft pale blues are contrasted so sharply by the bright red of the stars.
