I am starting my new project with the Seestar, the grand design spiral M81. I have 16h of "old" subs, and 13h of new subs from last night, which ended up at total of 26h usable subframes after Subframe Selection tool in Pixinsight. I decided to share my current stack of 26h, but the final goal will be closer to 50h after SFS, mainly to improve the IFN detection. M81 is in the Bortle 3 part of my sky, so I think 50h should be enough after Drizzle, as it reduces SNR a bit.
You can already see IFN in this image, but I do want it a bit more visible. Getting the extra 24h of data is usually not that hard with a few clear nights, but the weather forecast shows a sad story for the next two weeks. For that reason I decided to share this mid-project image as a work in progress, or rather a project in progress.
This is a mix of 10s, 20s, and 30s subs, with 10s only covering around 15% od the whole set. For the IFN 20s and 30s are a much better choice.
