Been a long time since I had something maybe share worthy. The weather has been turds. And even when it's clear, the seeing is turds.

Anyway I started a multi night project on the Monkey Head. Got a couple decent nights in! I'm limited by physical obstruction though so can only pull maximum 5 hours a night.

So here is about 10 total SHO integration. This is a WIP as I plan to add more photons.

Yeah, wasn't too worried since I fully expect it to be updated a few times before I land on a final.

(maybe try png or tiff, as they use lossless compression)

ABE

ah ok, i think that may be the reason why the edges of the nebula look a bit weird

#

ABE is probably overcorrecting

#

by "weird" i mean that the dark areas of the edges are darker than the background

#

a good trick is to remember to look at the background model and make sure it doesn't include any structure

And I didn't crop. See it's like this. I setup at night, start my session and then goto bed. I get up at 430am and shut everything down, grab my data, do a fast stack and a 10 minute workflow, and out the door by 515am. Again, really not to bothered by imperfections at this stage m

I actually used flats from a different coma corrector because I don't have them yet for the 095

it would be cool to see the way the image evolves with increasing time actually

Unless that’s what you’re going for, then keep it up!

Always try to strike a balance. My laptop has better color calibration (desktop uses generic 4k TV as display) and I usually pass an image onto the laptop for final color.
