This is a part of the sky which I had never seen a proper picture of outside of ultrawide shots. I wanted to do something dusty with the time I had at my dark site this fall/winter, and thought this would be something neat to try. Dusty widefields will never not be fun.

Those three huge globules of gas at the bottom of the image are so cool, I wonder if there's a chance they could form a star in their centers if they got dense enough?

Yep, dark clouds will be pulled together by gravity and eventually form stars! Not sure about their mass, more than likely they are about equal to or maybe slightly less than the mass of our sun.
