#Refractor or Reflector on Eq5?

You can influence the collimation on the newton, but any Refractor will have a coma, except those who have a flatterner built in, but those are not cheap
I think will be better of with the Newton and any collimation compared to a refractor with no Flattener, but if you buy a known good refractor flattener combo that would probably be the better choice
in my experience coma in a reflector with no corrector is much worse than a refractor with no flattener, either way it's best to buy both the scope and the relative corrector. It's not worth going without
that said, collimation isn't hard it just needs practice
but I would stick to a lower focal length refractor to stay safe and for simplicity of use
My Newton had much less coma without a corrector🤔
on mine it was very noticeable even fairly close to the center of the fov and with a small 533 sensor
What focal length are you looking for?
Had the same sensor, it wasn’t hardly noticeable
What would you recommend?
Sharpstars are good
Askar fra 300 is good but idk how expensive it is from the spot
1200€, too expensive is it?
I would opt for a cheaper doublet to start with
Ts optics AP60/360 maybe?
yeah something like that
not at that focal length
oke
maybe see if you can find something with a bit more focal length like 400 or so, it will come in handy with the full frame dslr
guiding gets more necessary as you go up in fl tho
Going to buy a redcat51 I
Great refrac
Used?
yes
Awesome deal, I would go for it
Will suffer less than buying it new
yap
And if you decide to sell it someday you can sell it for 600€ aswell
