very impressive, especially for wind speeds that high. how did you even shoot with wind like that?
I mainly do it with a grimace… I suppose I am pretty used to it. The area where I live is marked as the windiest place in the contiguous US, so there is no escape. Im able to keep about 60% of my subs at 480mm focal length. Anything longer would be pretty hard.
that's really impressive though, how do you keep your mount steady?
I keep it pretty heavy, around 30 lbs. the steadiness of the wind, even though strong, seems to help with the guiding consistency. I had it on concrete in my yard too, I don’t think it would have stood a chance out in an open field.
ahh okay, that makes a lot of sense
I plan to take and fill a large combine primary drive pulley with concrete to use as a pier to get something more windproof in a field.
Then I wouldn’t be so limited to my b4 location and could get out to b2 more often.
