Orion is a classic first target, and I'd say you did it better than lots of peoples' first images. As far as criticism goes, there's too much contrast going on here, and would look nicer if the background wasn't pure black and the stars weren't pure white. Less extreme contrast could also help bring out more detail in the nebulosity itself, too. With better framing, you could get the Running Man Nebula in the shot too, it's just above the Orion Nebula in this image.
