edge HD 8 reducer or no

With Galaxy season here, are other edge users going full resolution for most detail or do people generally use the .7 reducer and just crop in the image? I made the switch to NINA and have been struggling though that. I guess short question: stay at native focal length and try harder for better focus, or put the reducer back on and deal with smaller galaxies?
