#Refractor or 130pds, and what to get

you could get a ts optics dublet, but with that you have to buy a flattener that costs around 170-200
if you want a refractor really bad then you should just save up a little
But will eq3 be able to able handle the newt
Before you pick, think about what you want most, the 130PDS is 650mm fl which is quite long, and with a small sensor like the 585, youll have a very cropped FOV, which can be nice but can be a pain, and if you are not guiding with it, the newt will not be able to get properly round stars unless you use short exposures, also dont forget a coma corrector ontop. around £150-400 depending which you go with
Now
If you like a wider FOV and dont want to worry about collimation or wind, get a frac, personally id say save and get a Redcat 51 as unless you/it somehow breaks, youll probably never replace that frac, and if you get a bargain on a used deal, you may be able to get it for £500, which will not require a field flattener or coma corrector. guiding still would be good but you wont be limited to as short exposures, wind wont be as much as a issue, and guiding does not need to be nearly as good as it would need with the 130PDS
