#Am I able to use a 5x Barlow with the Heritage_130P scope?

yea thats wayy too much
your over magnified
using a 5x barlow and a 10mm is asking too much for a small portable telescope
If I have my maths right, max power is about 2 x aperture for the scope, so =260x
Magnification power = focal length of scope / fl of eyepiece
So with a 5x Barlow and 25mm eyepiece, 5x625/25 = 125x but with a 10mm eyepiece = 312x
So you could probably get away with it with the 25mm but not the 10mm. In theory.
Honestly 5x barlows suck though. Go 2x and use a good quality 5mm or 6mm eyepiece.
My mistake, the focal length should be 650mm not 625mm, but you get the idea.
Yeah tried with both, and i think with the 25, if the focusser could go another half turn it would catch it, but yeah I'll go with the 2x. I've not had a scope for long, just a couple of days, but I was absolutely blown away with the views of Jupiter and Saturn. Moon was stunning too, and saw satellites transiting across it. Thanks for the advice. What would be a " good quality eyepiece"
For budget, there are a bunch of “red band” or “gold band” 1.25”eyepieces, that are rebadged and sold by SvBony and others. IIRC the good ones come in 6mm, 9mm, 15mm and 20mm sizes.
Thanks. I read that its importnt to match the focal length with your F value, is this critical?
