I cropped it a bit more than I'd have liked. I was in a rush and was having issues with the top-right corner during the DBE process.
Nice!
Your stars look very clean
What's your exact process for the stars in this image? @sand saddle
I had trouble getting decent looking stars
i used pixinsight to 'solve' the image, then did a photometric color calibration. then a slight histogram stretch to get all the stars at least visible, before running starXterminator on them. i increased saturation on the stars slightly, then did SCNR Green on them. after tweaking the starless, i recombined everything, denoised it, and ran blurXterminator with non-stellar adjustments at 20 (instead of 90). i use it mostly for star treatment.
ahh bXt that makes sense. I've been using Starnet and PS to treat stars.
i've never used PS. i'm certain there are ways to get similar results. my friend uses it and he gets nice stars on his z73
Here's how I used to do it. Run some unsharpmask on the stars to sharpen them, and then morphologicaltransformation (rolls right off the tongue!) to reduce them. it leaves weird looking dim stars though.
No stretch?
He was showing the star mask if I'm correct
Mk
Oh shoot I forgot I posted this lol, nice process!
Thanks, im kind of a beginner in processing. I try to improve
Keep it up! Processing can take data a long way!
@bitter flame not my best processing but this data has got me VERY excited to shoot pleiades! thanks for sharing (:
I will try again tomorrow to see the difference after 4 months
Oo I like your stars! Also yes, I'm getting hyped again to shoot this target with more integration time and much less tilt this time.
Haha thanks! Very basic star processes, histo, SCNR, saturation. Yeah honestly M45 is something I’ve never been able too shoot, but now I can at F3.45
but yeah I think your image will come out amazing! Your FOV will get some more of the outer dust
F3.45 will be nice! But yea I'm hoping to get more of the dust.
Oh youll get it! make sure to @ me when youve shot the data, would love to try (:
Sure thing!
my first process in a while 🫠
Lol understandable, colors aren't too bad tho!
thanks!
💀
whats the fl and pixel size?
360mm - 5.2 um
that is some beautiful data!\
Thank you!
oh damn 1s i gotta process
You sure its the uncompressed tif or fit file ?
interesting noise pattern
hm
Siril
Manual stretching
Appears in both auto stretch and manual stretch
Very weird, that's the untouched fit sooo.
gonna take a try at this rn
@bitter flame yeah like aurora said there is something wrong with this stack, Im not having the same issue but I have some weird compression banding
Turn dithering on in DBE window @feral kindle
Idk if that's what @obsidian tinsel issue was but it will create banding on my DSLR data.
@bitter flame Quick 20 minute process
Ill do that next time
I gotta get back to my exams
Nah your good, I'll have the new data uploaded by then likely.
dont have pix sadly
My internet connection was ass so this didnt load in
Your colors are nice
star colors especially
Even though I'm horrible at processing
🍤
lol its learning process for sure
I recorded my processing and posted the video above... If you want, watch it there. You will have a good idea of where to start processing
I think u processed my data rather then this threads one
this one dosent have spikes on the stars
Yea that looks way diff
Yeah I definitely did
I haven’t done ap for like a year so I was downloading a lot of peoples stuff so I could practice for tonight
And I just chose the wrong file
Lol all good
Alr lol
we just dont talk about it
Lol, nice blues tho.
background a bit green SCNR
Oh yep I didn’t even realize that I should have done a green noise removal
@short tartan
dang, thats pretty clean
