Pretty sure most people will generally recommend a used 150-200p dobsonian, not only because of price, but of a greater light gathering power, but it all depends on use case. What do you want to do with the telescope?

That’s the most common suggestion, but dobsonians are notoriously hard for AP, but really good for deep space.

#

if you really wanna do AP, I’d probably suggest a tracker and a camera, but I feel as if you could probably pull it off with both a phone and a camera on your original pick as well

#

It might be wise asking some more AP inclined people on this server

#

You can get used ones for relatively cheap

#

Or you could build a barn door tracker for even cheaper

#

Generally the SWSA 2i

#

The best out of the box one imo

#

It’s pretty expensive though

#

I’d honestly say the Orion scope was pretty decent

#

Plus you can use it as a telescope as well

#

best bet is to look around to find used telescope that has an eq mount if you going for Astro because you should be able to go bigger and cheaper

#

But I don’t think it would be too bad to go for the Orion

#

AP means astrophotography at least I can’t bother typing it

#

editing really really helps

#

I’m still learning

#

Plus getting a bunch of help from people here

#

People here are really helpful

#

That was my original image

#

After stacking a couple

#

(Plenty of good videos on it)

#

And that was after editing with a load of help

#

Nah, you don’t need powerful, you just need time

#

Stacking takes time

#

Editing not so much it’s more of learning curve

#

siril, deepskystacker, pipp photoshop . Really anything

#

Most of them are free and open source

#

it’s depends on what you wanna process (planets work better in some apps and deep sky in other)
