Sooooo, I started astrophotography 3 Months ago with my old Nikon D3100, got some decent pics of the Orion Nebula, and now got Melinda invested into the hobby.

Bought myself a Canon EOS 90D from a friend for cheap, and a Skywatcher EQ5 Pro.

Bows the question, what telescope to get?
I’m ain’t a fan of buying a camera lens as I plan to Astro modify my camera and wouldn’t use the lens for anything else. According to Reddit and own research a dedicated scope would suit me better.

So what to get?
I looked at some Netwons, but the need for collocation kinda makes me unhappy to buy it.

Did you mean collimation or collection? Both problems with a newt but very different ones 😄

Collimation is not hard at all, just factor in the cost of a cheshire collimator. You'll also need a coma corrector, and the newt you buy should have a 2" focuser and allow you reach prime focus with a DSLR. A 130/650 Newtonian will be fine on that mount.

I don't know much about refractors, but an Evostar 72ED is a good starting point. You'd also need a field flattener. Alternatively a Redcat51.
