#Are there ways to improve noise artefacts after starnet?

Just processing about an hour of Orion at 135mm f/2 and not sure if this is just a case of pushing the data too far and as such garbage in = garbage out but wondered if there were ways to get more from the data. Basically in the starless version it's all brownish and blue mottles and the star mask has small lines between the smaller stars. Also not sure if I might be missing something in the processing beforehand (maybe colour calibration?) that's contributing to the issue.
WBPP -> DBE -> MultiscaleMedianTransform -> PhotometricColorCalibration (used M42 as target?) -> StarNet2 -> Pixelmath (to combine starless+starnet)
