Damnnn I got an iPhone X too but the image never comes out like this
im gonna try it out tonight
ooh cool
let me know once you done it please
how it was
your time zone is so different from the UK
like +10 hours compared to UK
Pictures of the full moon from yesterday with my 42/16mm binos, edited in Lightroom
Dam
Smoke from wildfires in Alberta and British Columbia Canada have moved all the way over to Toronto Ontario and are blotting out what was gonna be a clear night. ☹️ however, the smoke made a natural solar filter and I was able to set my camera up on a tripod and just take photos with no equipment at al
ISO not sure it was set on auto
Shutter speed 1/4000
F11 or smthn I forgot
Not sure why they won’t appear as a photo
Here's some processing
M57 - Ring Nebula
One of my first astrophotography images taken with an 8 inch dob
Untracked, taken with a phone
Stacked in Siril, edited in Siril and GIMP
Didn't take calibration frames 💀
Beehive cluster, dob 150/750, with my Samsung a52s camera, edited in Lightroom
Venus and half moon last night 😎
Few pics from the last 4 days watching Venus and the moon got some good views of mars last night as well
Canon 600D
No tracker / telescope
3rd day
10x6 sec stack f/2.8 50 mm
~30 minutes intergration time of whirpool, EQM-35i PRO, Orion Observer 134mm, phone camera
well i was trying to get m81 and m82 with a bloody celestron astromaster 70az which is a manual scope , obviously it was basically zenith when i was trying to capture it , and on top of that monstrosity, i had foxes running up and down the next door neighbours garden , it frightened the absolute life out of me as i couldn’t see a thing , worst astrophotography experience ever
next time get a dob for visual and for astrophotography ask a nerd
i don’t do visual , i’m waiting on a swsa gti mount and a roki 135mm f2 lens , this is the only scope i have and i wanna do some sort of astrophotography
am i not allowed to mention astrophotography here? lmao
no you are
I was talking about the scope
I said ask a nerd becuase I am not a nerd
I didn't mean to ask in ask_a_nerd
ohhh sorry my bad yeah ik what u mean
I should have worded it better
my fault
sorry
oh no dw it’s okay it was my take on it lol i thought you meant something different, but nah i’m not asking for help or tips or anything i’m just sharing my sheer terror and fear i experienced when trying to photograph a pair of galaxies
ik i didn’t know i was goona wanna do astrophotography ngl
but i’m waiting on a gti mount to come , within 10-15 working days so that’s great
@median perch unless you're gonna take tons of exposures, the bigger the aperture the better as the more aperture, the more light can enter it.
are you talking about the astromaster or the roki?
but if you’re talking about the roki i’ll be spending hours outside shooting , if you’re talking about the astromaster then i use an iphone to take photos anyway
but what one was you talking about ?
astromaster
Hii i have clicked these 2 images same time, same settings, same place and almost same viewing condition but while editing both images i am getting different results on mineral deposition what should I do? Thank you
Almost full moon is my first mineral moon image which is better than the first. Why is this happening?
In monochrome it's okish for me but mineral moon image its getting ruined 😭. Here is the monochrome image(made it monochrome)
Nicee👌
How are you all doing? I am still quite new to this and am trying to learn, so thanks for your patience lol. I was doing some shots on Rho Ophiuchi with a 55mm lens, got about 160x90s exposures at ISO 400. I did calibration with flats darks and bias, that I know I did them properly but I could be wrong about that. I do live in a city with a pretty high bortle rating, so that could be the cause of it. But I am just really not happy with how it is turning out, there seems to be a distinct lack of detail. I have included a link with my stacked image as well as the processed image (to the best of my current abilities) do you have any input? Thanks https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HYBm80pCMOi0kkRObbGd1qhna1Iejvwa/view?usp=sharing
My first five subs with my first AP mount.
SWSA 2i Pro
Nikon D300s
Nikon 70-200 f2.8 with 2x focal enhancer making it a 400mm f/5.6
5x120sec subs
After this I realised my sensor was really dirty. But still. Happy with the result from only five subs.
My first planetary image taken with a dob!
8 inch Dob f/6
Redmi K20 Pro
Kellner 9mm eyepiece
UnTrAcKeD ;-;
PIPP/AS!3
My best pic of venus so far
taken with 4mm eyepeice+3x barlow lens on a powerseeker 70az
i had the same issue. (Kinda) i just lowered saturation and brightness a little and it removed it for me
I took it with my iphone 7 btw
looked like this before I edited it
Didnt need to stack at all
(not bragging ab it)
Damn
let me try on this thang
yea idk what to do autostrech dont really show anyhting
Lol thanks for trying
I think it’s most likely just me needing to use lower fstop plus less light pollution plus more exposure time
more exposures
what bortle
But how you did that ? mine can't even do that.
You need an android that has a pro/expert mode in it
Ohh mine doesn't support that 😞
Want to be friends ?
I am just a student so I don't have mobile which can support that
Ok
Does bsc student is in college or in school ?
Probably college
What equipment you have man
I am here waiting for my pair of binoculars 😞
You are also from India huh
yep
Friends ?
Sure
Already send req
🤝same
I am buying binoculars of ₹ 2,445
What magnification?
I had a 7x one too but I lost it while changing houses
I will return it if it's not 10x60
I'm technically from India too
My family moved when I was like 1 to the UK and now we're british citizens
The optics wouldn't be good too considering it's price
so...
Lucky
Can't find astro gear ffs in India
How's the weather in your area then ?
Mine?
Ya it's reall rare to find astrogear in india
@austere parcel no weather in his area and yours too
Tejraj.com is pretty good but they don't sell tracking mounts for some reason
idk
ebay?
10K will only get you a bare bones telescope
With optics comparable to a dishwasher
10 k for crappy telescope?
Sorry NO
Used ones are pretty difficult to find here as astrophotography comes into niche category
16inch Dobsonian for just 140K inr 🤤
JUST 140K !!!!!!????????
YOU MUST BE RICH!!!!!!!???!!!
That's a way better price than UK afaik
You underestimate how expensive thing here gets. A single coma corrector which is not so big. About 2 inches wide is sold for almost 200 euros lol
Sorry my father I farmer and I am 18 year old bsc student waiting for my college starts so it's too much for ME !!!!
*father is
I understand
my dads brother is a farmner
my dad isn't tho nor my mum
Not really, you'll have to spend quite a bit if you want to buy decent gear
Check explore scientific 16 inch Dobson it's a truss tube model also
good call on binocs
get a phone adapter sooner or later
and a tripod to do EAA
my humble first attempt from a while ago
Canon 1000d
80/400 achro
Yep I've seen that too
It's around 20K more iirc
Caldwell 80 Cluster (untracked)
Ohh ok
I suggested it cuz it's transportation better than the gso due to fully truss design
I DID IT
I DID THE THING
i do think it looks a tad out of focus though
Sequator4Life
Yeah but I'd rather buy an apo refractor or a SCT telescope because assembling the truss tube would easily take more than 30 mins
(also it weighs around 40kg)
M4 cluster(untracked) from Bortle 8 skies
Sadly Histogram strech introduces a lot of noise due to light pollution
My first attempt at a long term project, 5 hours, 58 mins and 53 seconds of data, lots of calibration frames and whatnot, lots of issues with background noise as I live in a bortle 8-9 area so its pretty tricky but Im pretty proud of it. Evoguide 50 ed and canon rebel SL1 and syvbony clip in light pollution filter.
quality is bad cause i had to convert it to a jpg to send it
(Heres the full quality one if u want to see it)
thats good
here was my first attempt with a phone, eqm-35, and my 134mm ota
2.8hr exposure
Thanks man
Nice
i tried processing your photo too
Oooh how’d it come out
The one I sent was the photoshopped one but when I’m home I can send the non photoshopped version
please send that instead
your galaxy was super bright and it revealed no detail, only large structure
Yeah I’ll be home soon I’ll send it then
@fleet vortex heres one i had to play with the midtone cause there was so much bsckground noise the second one is with no changes pretty sure, also might be distorted a little i have to check that one again
second one is just the stack
Okay I'll stack it when I get home
i do not think i can process it
yeah thats fine its a bit of a pain the data isnt very good
It's beginner place and you all have telescope and I only have 10x60 binoculars with no stand I can't do astrophography 😭😭😭
But stargazing is cool tbh
Binos are so fun to use,i use them more than my scope
hey be happy you got the binos
next is the tripod
Omega Centauri
Isn't it spelled Centauri instead of Centaurus?
yep my bad
Same photo but with less deep fried look
I was not complening I am just saying that I can't wait to see the Orion nebula 😆
Better processed M4
It is bright
Same dude only got 10x50 binos and a dslr with a 105mm lens
that looks pretty good! keep it up!
Mad good indeed
Been a month and a half since i did astro gosh these clouds wont leave
And now my dobis coming its still gonna be cloudy
But I don't have dslr
Lagoon and Trifid Nebula (untracked) from Bortle 7-8 skies
Had to compress the image a bit for discord
It still looks good 👍
Awww good dag आलू (आलू=potato 🥔)
Woah nice image
I think you like anime...... @slate timber
Wow, what equipment did you use?
1 sec exposure
Not stacked
I captured this when my town had no electricity cuz of storm
Lol
M4
Epik
did you post process
yes but in gimp and i`m very bad at it
send the tiff to me
and what you used so i can do photometric color calibration
8" dobson without tracking with asi 224mc
good choice on the asi224mc
focal length of your dob?
1200mm
but i have only procesed image
i delelted orginal from stack
and i didn`t use flat or bias
ok i will try tonight
take darkflats too, i use NINA to take my flats
does this look like a gradient or a cloud strucure to you guys? Its of cygnus, Im pretty sure its the bottom half i was trying to get NGC 6781 which is a star cluster just for some practice.
that's a gradient
🥲
Yeah no the abberations arent fixable rn
Im using a skywatcher evoguide and a dslr that doesnt focus with a field flattener so until I get a dedicated astro cam i gotta deal with it
that coma makes it look like im going warp speed
its true
i think i know what your going for
yeah
this picture may have it
really i was just trying to get some of the milky way
it doesnt i used astronomy dot net
i dont remember
i think I just thought "hey look cygnus" and pointed it like the lower half
The Moon was the first photo that I was able to get well with my Mak 70mm and my cell phone, Venus, although I could see it well through the eyepiece, when I took a photo of it, it looked very bad, so I adapted a webcam and the results are amazing, Venus is now looks much better.
dang! thats a nice moon!
im sitll trying to figure out how to get rid of that greenish glare on the perimeter of the moon for my photos
You mean chromatic aberration?
yep thats the one!
Bean
Hello beginners I am here without astro photography setup nice to meet you 😉
Bean
your phone works too
Thank you, the funny thing is that I tried it with several programs to take photos such as DeepSky Camera and Camera FV-5 Lite, and the photos really didn't turn out badly, but with the cell phone camera enabled PRO the photo was better, it must be like Beginner I didn't know how to adjust the other programs well, but I noticed the real difference when I used the webcam, I was surprised, the difference is abysmal, I could never take a good picture of Venus, too bright and I don't have a filter, but with With the SharpCap program I can regulate the intensity and I was able to see Venus in all its splendor, as can be seen in the photo below of the Moon.
do a hdr moon
I need to learn about that because I don't know how to do it.

Moon with a 6inch newt and A phone
I have a question. What is better. Having few high exposures images stacked, or a lot of shorter exposure images
High exposures images stacked, much less stacking time and less noise.
There's no straight answer, it really depends on your magnification and light pollution level
From my experience I recommend high exposure
K
The moon yesterday
took this earlier my first moon image with my new dob !!!
oh true true
Moon right now
Finally clouds cleared up here i took a 9min ptolemy and butterfly cluster and 3mins rho ophiuchi cause clouds kicked in
Got rusty at this lol been 2months of clouds after all
I say my little brother is a beginner in astronomy, he is already looking at the moon through his binoculars
Hes only 3
they grow up so fast
Better than my crispy first stack
Overfried💀
First few moon pics I ever got, I’m still a newbie and I don’t even stack yet, unguided 10” newt
Moon last night
my photo of the moon the other night
Tonight's full moon
Cool 👍
Hi All. I’m quite new to Astrophotography. I only started this year. Luckily in my younger days I bought a really nice Takahashi which sat in a peli case for 16 years while children and other things got in the way. This year I decided to give this hobby a bit of a go. I know I have a lot to learn about but I wanted to post a photo I took over a couple of nights of the crescent nebula. I’d just like some feedback on how I can make the image look better. Thanks for all your help.
That looks awesome!
WOAH YOU SURE YOU NEW TO THIS?!? well the processing seems a bit overstrecthed add a bit more contrast to the colors and the black space
but damn that is hella good
Holy shit, not bad for a newbie.
ikr
Thanks so much. To be honest I think the scope is the winner. I’m still learning about processing the images. I think that is the hardest part. Also I’m using an ASIAIR and I think that also really makes it easy for everyone that is starting out now.
damn
well makes sense the gear does wonders
while i only have a 105mm nikon dslr
but hey your processing needs work but still great wonders indeed you produced
It’s really another huge learning curve. I’m using pixinsight and there are loads of YouTube videos which makes it easier, but it can also be frustrating when I don’t get the same results.
oh pixinsight very good
well there are alot of nerds here to help
I’m trying to build a dark/flat/dark flat library. Should my flats be white?
lemme see this shit gang
what do you use to take flats
I’ve tried sky flats and also a drawing light panel. I seem to get a lot of vignetting and green and red wash.
A pretty moon from last night
It's currently 4:51AM. 30 minutes before then I took a bunch of pictures of Saturn
With 2x Barlow lens, Celestron 114AZ-SR + Phone Zoom
Milky way
First photo of the moon with phone, hand held and a x22 ( not sure about that ) lens adaptor
i know is a lil bit blurry , i am on the wrong side of a hill 😦 so i don't always see the moon
https://prnt.sc/hH1wepfddsnO
Jupiter with shadows of his moons
dang thats good! from one onion to another!
Re edit
Omg that's really good, how did you do it?
Fr how did you do that cause my phone cant even see M13
Through my scope
Yes, same
Even if they are not sharp or incredible, like Hubble, they are very good
astroshader
those images will be WAY better with a camera
Lil bro is trying his best to make me buy the Uranus c
💀
You need it
Ok fine I’m convinced, but the only issue is that the ISS is passing over the sun soon
phone camera
True
M13 is a globular cluster lol
Bruh i meamt m31 haha
Nice
I got m31 its just the focus thats making me go nuts, also i need a better mount😭
Focusing is pain and better mount get one asap
I will
Bortle 3/4 milk with S21 ultra
Its just that they cost my kidney and my soul
Yeah
They cost my pancreas both kidneys and a lung
Wdym
And a soul
And my left brain lobe
And my gall bladder and my liver
But lets put black market aside
And all of my airsoft guns
You play airsoft to???
I did loved it!
Currently im saving up for a p99
Its pain getting hit but pretty epic sport
I already have an aeg and everything
I got hit in the eye
And my crutch
And my throat
I got hit in back and legs... i shot a kid in belly... ouch
A lot of injuris and a few trips to the hospital made me have ptsd
That shit hurts
I dont play it much but its cool
It does believe me
Yeh, i run out of ammo and its expensive
Yeah i know, i got hit in the eye so that cost me a month of my life
Fixing guns too
You werent playing with a mask?
Yeah, i had to fix my gearbox because the gears broke
I lost my goggles so i went without them
My pistols barrel broke . rip
And i found them in my tactical vest
Welp, its expensive, i might quit beacuse i already spent a good amount i could dpent on an astro mount
I and my team were playing with g36 pretty good gun ngl
Yeah
Same bye
That is a pretty good image, would you mind sharing the exposure time and how may images were stacked?
It's a single sub, exposure time 30 with iso 3200.
Jupiter Yesterday
Going down to the isle of wight on Saturday for 2 weeks. Which allows me to escape bortle 7 and escape to bortle 4 skies. Sqm 20.90. Will the milky way be visible from where i am? I wanna get decent milky way pics for the first time. (Thorness bay to be more specific) im unsure if the milky way core be towards Newport or away from it. Just want clarification : )
The camera i have is a canon eos 500d btw and no tracking mount because im too poor to buy one.
Yeah, the milky way is clearly visible from Bortle 4
I took this from Bortle 5
Yeah, if you're talking about live view, it'll appear a little bit faint and colourless.
Point at Scorpius or Centaurus. not directly towards south
i can see the head of scorpius from my bortle 7 yard no problem but houses block the view just after it appears also Birminghams glow is where the milky way core is so there is a no go for milky way core pics
I can just about get the great rift from my back yard
its so faint it’s basically not there on the camera
When i manage to upload it to my laptop sometime next week i will try and bring it out more and compare it from my bortle 7 garden to the bortle 4 skies of the isle of wight
School is getting in the way of my astro sessions
Thank you 😊
My first photo to Satur.
Should have gotten 2 or 3x, it makes things easier to find
Great image. I struggle with photographing planets so you did better than me
Three days ago I went to see the milky way with the naked eye for my first time. Needless to say, I was impressed
Venus
Thanks you, There are the first photos with dignity, the previous ones have been a disaster, but I have learning little by little, Yesterday SV 105 camera arrived, I hope to get better imagens, in the preliminary settings the imagens look much better than the webcam I was using.
got this with the sv105
Fantastic image, I had heard that SV 105 was only for planets but for deep sky it was not very good but that globular cluster looked incredible, have you tried with another object, like a nebula.
I have the weather against me, I only had 5 minutes today with a Venus among some fine clouds but even so I tried to see how the camera worked and I think it works very well.
its not for deep sky
500ms exposures max
Turns out I don't need to travel and hour away from home to get a picture of the milky way
From my backyard, where light pollution is a problem, I am suprised
It’s not much, but I’m pretty happy that I got to shoot it from b8-9
What equipment
150/750 newt (from heritage 150p) + eq3 pro + asi 224mc
Processing mainly in siril + a few touches in gimp
Not expencive equipment for a good pic finally
🫡
Sheesh thats nice
I canr wait to get my Mars-C
Cant*
Do you know what bortle class your backyard is in
I am not sure what it is, but I'll look.
I think anywhere from 7-6 bortle, out of nine, (nine being bad, and one being great, of course
Bortle is up to 8
Wait no 9
Lmao
Milky Way is technically visible in a 5, barely
Is astrophotography possible with an alt az mount?
Depends on what mount what gear and what target deep space or planets
I was thinking about getting a celestron nexstar 5 slt and a uranus-c and doing mostly Planetary with a bit of dso
We cant do both unfortunatly... You sure can do planetary with alt azimuth but not deep space
Oh okay, thank you
you can do deep space with alt az
its like having a bad mount, it doesnt really track all that well
so your capped at around ~5s exposures
naked eye
you can get a pretty good photo of the milky way from b5
First time ever stacking Saturn using PIPP and autostakkert. Pretty happy with the results, I'm using a 114mm Meade newtonian reflector from the 90's. Footage was shot from my phone then exported to PC for stacking.
I reccomend using registax...
Instead of what?
Pipp and autostakkeret
It does both for you?!?
Yeah just you do star alignment and stacking and then proccesing
ok thanks :)
I use it myself 😄
im pretty sure pipp and autostakkert have better results than registax, that’s only for sharpening
Idk just rexistax sound like a more solid option
yea but pipp and autostakkert give better results, why not go for the best results with your data? that’s my opinion at least
I think its a great opinion i just dont like putting all the stuff back and forth
right yea makes sense
Thank you!
I don't mind if it means I get a better pic :)
Use autostakkert for stacking ok I use it and then sharpening with registax
👍
What telescope?
130/650 newt and Neptune-C II
130mm?!?
Wow
How
What
How do you do that, I can't get sharp images like you can
We got the same everything
Only difference is camera
You sharpen them and take more footage
How long do you usually take
I have good seeing and can get away with 50% plus
And how do you do collimation
Around 2000-5000
Star collimation
That’s on the high end
If you have bad seeing you gotta do more
And also, low shutter speed
Like 100th of a second
I gotta get a really good picture of jupiter
I will
Looks like venus because crecent
what'd you get in the 2nd image?
After hours of mistakes and errors, I finally got my settings as I wanted to and tried a first session. 60x 1min, Redcat51 + Uranus-C and I tried to do things on DSS only for now. Any advice is welcomed ♥
Jupiter this morning
I am not sure is the focus okay too
m6 m7 m8
My first shot of the andromeda galaxy
I’m bortle 4-5
I want for you to laugh at these and dont be non judgmental
I am bortle 3 when not in town
When I’m in town it is bortle 9-10🥲🥲🥲
7 for me
Dayum i am going to warsaw soon its like bortle 8/9
I live in Athens
I live in lithuania
What’s your telescope
150/750 newton but i use my dwarf 2 more
I have a 6inch dob
I have friends now
Niceee
One of my cats just ate a bird😐
Put a bell on em they will scare the pray without harming them
I won’t because it’s super rare for one of my cats to eat a bird and in my 13 years of owning one it has happened twice
The mostly eat spiders
My cats are scared to even go outside
First time here 🙂
Nice! Want tips?
Use recording feature which will greatly allow you to take more frames that you can stack in autostakkert I think, then you can edit like combining both RGB and such to get rid of the chromatic aberration effects. And 50mm is not bad choice, get a dob or other in the future 👍 good luck and I look toward to your growth
Thanks :DD
:D
Not so cool like other but that it's for today:)
is it focused?
Looks unfocused
Sorry I don't know how to focus
I'm felling a bit embarrassed to send photos here
Cause you guys images are so bright and cool
And mine is this
Dude, next time call us, ask us... You need to know how to focus, do you see 2 knobs where you put the eyepiece? If you do those are the focusing knobs, you spin them until you have perfect focus.
Dont feel embarrassed, everybody starts somewhere
Don't be. I've been here since 12th March 2023 and I've still not made a single image. All because of constant problems after problems and endless praying to the Ouranus won't help. Also more embarrassing is that I have really quality Newtonian and a HEQ5 Pro and it's been gathering dust.
💀
I left my newt on the rain, its soaked
I found the optical tube full of water
If you're talking about your phone, does your camera app have a manual mode?
If that happened to me I would hate myself forever
I want to die now
same. the mirror now has salt flats
Yeh, its covered in minerals
Free food i mean
I hope your mount isnt goto because then thats just a death sentence
Yeah its an old eq2
hey guys curious to know where the best place would be to find out what cables plug in to what when i want to power eqm35 , zwo533mc, 120mm guide camera and asiair . I am not sure which cable goes where ive watched few videos but cannot see what tehy are pluggin in - hope someone cam help
Pretty sure it would be in their spec sheets?
the only spec list on the mount is about the handcontroller and the onboard computer etc
Weird
yeah it tells me about the mount connectors one in the DEC and RA etc
but does not tell me how or what i connect to the ASAIR etc to the mount / guide camera
That's the reason why I never leave my scope outside
@river rock my man help this guy out
Have you a eqdir or usb port?
Can you send a pic with the ports?
Newer mounts have a usb
Lynx Astro FTDI EQDIR USB Adapter for Sky-Watcher Mounts (see description for models) i have this that i bought
Ugh was there a instruction with it?
Ok there is a usb port
It’s a weird usb tho isn’t it?
Its normal usb a
so i need to buy a usb A cable?
Yes
so where would that plug in on the other end?
so plug the "normal" usb end in the usb place?
Whats that cable you have at "Hand control"
Yes, normal usb port from mini pc or asiair
that was plugged into the hand controller
Ok, can you send a pic of your eqdir cable?
That’s the 2 ends
Yes, plug it into where the hand controller cable is
ok so connect the end to hand control and other in asiair?
Nono, instead of the hand controller cable
yeah so replace that with the eqdir
RJ45 -> Hand controller port
USB -> AsiAir
perfect and the camera and guide camera straight into asiair?
Yes
ok perfect ty sorry im slow with this type of thing im dyslexic so learning alot haha do i need to buy any usb A cable or ignore that now
If you have a Eqdir you dont need usb
thank you sooooo much mate (yet again)
Its ok, as you just start out you can allow yourself to have some problems 🙂 not everyone starts directly into the hobby with control via minipc
The learning curve is steeper
haha i dont do things easy it seems lol
thanks for your patience and help again mate ❤️
We all start somewhere
The difference practice makes ❤️
Taken 2 days apart
Nice
Your scope?
skywatcher heritage 130p, 5" dobsonian
I also have a dob
nice
Have you shot orion or andromeda?
only in early morning
This is my first orion and it looks like a joke
good first start id say
This is my latest they are a month apart and this one looks a little less like a joke
But it’s still shit
The stars look like golf balls
I take it's taken with a phone?
Yes
Ah, since you have good telescope. Your focus should be getting a DSLR.
I have 6inch dob
It'll improve your pictures so much, also look into astro cooled cameras if you're willing to guarantee that the astro cooled camera will be your last
Good for planetary, kind of good for DSO
Deep sky objects
Ok
Try what?
Oh
When did you start ap
There is a tutorial that helped me a lot when I started and I think it will also help you
like, 1 year ago with phone, and with telescope like 5 months
@calm isle just type: how to use a telescope on YouTube and watch the video by: Very Intresting Chanel
It will help you a LOT
Thanks
Not done any cable management yet or any actual polar align just testing and works via my iPad now with ASIAIR
Not space and anything but it's Light pole 👍
quick glance looks like mars 😄
My Barlow lens just mess up with the image Even if I focus
Try without Barlow
Thats it
Barlow it's just a white image
Wait
What eyepiece and what Barlow you use
Erecting eyepiece is the same as Barlow?
25mm and 1,5x
My focal length it's 360
Ok
Have you watched the tutorial I suggested?
Yes
Csr Vision with 50mm aperture,360 focal length and coated lens
It's what is in the tube
Roof
It's an refractor
What do you want to shoot?
Tree
Well, planets and stars
No nebulas??
Andromeda?
It's the only thing I can see with the things I have
I would like to see everything but planets and stars it's the only thing that I can see
What bortle you in?
I might be talking nonsense
.
Not exactly
So my erecting eyepiece it's 1,5x
If it's not the same I don't have an bortle
Bruh
What are you talking about
I'm talking about my telescope
I’m talking about light pollution
Bortle is a measuring unite for light pollution
It’s ok
In bortle 8 I don’t think you can shoot andromeda
Gtg bye
@calm isle oh absolutely you can.
You can image Andromeda in that Bortle, the finding process won't be easy. But it's bright enough.
hey all - want to share an image i took over past few nights, around 1hr40min total time, 300 images at 20sec exposure on a QHY268C and a 80mm/600 skywatcher. Tips welcome on how i can improve. Using Siril for processing, but finding it challenging to remove noise when i amp up the details
birtle 1/2 sky (for the most part)
bortle even
birtle?
Bortle 🙂
Oh
3 tries(not edited)
Saturn(what a cool image right)
Nice!
Begginer M31
Real for a beginner just getting the spiral arms is cool
God i have been inactive on astro for months
I practically died in this server lol
I see...

Philippines?
South east Asian struggles
Real
Btw, may I edit that :)
Ofc
Sure
Thanks
Stacked?
yeah
What percentage?
i forgor 💀
Hahah
Wow
Bro forgor
This is my best photo : )
AAAAA I FINALLY GOT TO FOCUS MY TELESCOPE ON SATURN AAAAAA
I SEE RINGS
I SEE RINGGGGGGSSSSSS
FIRST TIMEEE
Idk if I can make it a photo but I will try
AAAAAAAAAA ITS THERE
HAHAHAHAH
RINGS, RIINGSS
Remember zoom in and use your eyes to focus not the phone
1000 5s shots
man i need a tracker
Woooow
Finally after a month of clouds and rain i get to use my scope
Waning Gibbous
Orion xt6 and my phone
Imaged saturn aswell
I need to get my hands on a barlow and the tadaptor and ring

finally saw the andromeda galaxy with my own eyes, managed to snap a picture, it is an A-Grade smudge of a galaxy
just waiting on my guide scope to arrive and then we can make some real progress!
Are these from your phone?
No
woah cooll

Least compressed discord image :
I see nothing 💀
phone and scope
Saturn taken from A SCOPE( Doesn't seem like it, right?)
More colour and sharpness than the last one
A little Saturn.
Took this through an iphone 13 10 second exposure in bortle 8 during winter
Moon, i took this picture around month ago, 15 stacked, 14 mb of weight in total. Gear: calestron up close 10x zoom+ 5 camera zoom
my best saturn yet
very nice! how many frames?
900
sick
but i cant get a better image with my telescope
what scope?
60/900 refractor
but I tried everything i cant get better
probably bc a lense maybe has moved? when I was moving my telescope my sister bumped into me and it fell out of my hand
more focal length than me
thats why I am gonna buy myself a new telescope next year
what scope you thinking?
a skymax 127
well I use my phone
id say the skymax 127 looks reasonable
nice
this is what my first saturn looked like
well refractors have more focal length than reflectors XD
woah
i can send a pic later of my first saturn. but i dont have my phone with me rn
then recently ive done this, learning the programs helps a lot
canon 200d
nice
skymax 127 isnts a cassegrain. its a maksutov
i think cassegrain still has the X
like at the front
the skymax 127 is a Maksutov-Cassegrain
wait what?
so kind of a cassegrain
there is different types of cassegrains
the ones without this X that holds the secondary mirror is called schmidt cassegrain
the skymax 127 is just in the normal maksutov category
hm
the maskutov is the maksutov-cassegrain, isnt it?
indeed
i just know that maksutov have a big focal length but a short body
like the skymax 127 has a focal length of 1500mm but is very short

Trust me I wasn’t the best when I started either
Me realising my past was a "bit" worse
Mine was really bad
I didn’t use the scope until 8 months after getting it
And I quit until October, then I came back MARCH
Sraturn and pijter
Saturn and Jupiter from a few nights ago, happy with both turnouts but still want to improve both
can you send me the video of jupiter you took? I wanna try and stack them myself and edit them
Yeah for sure I have two sets of videos: I have Jupiter with just the 12mm or Jupiter with a 2x Barlow and 12mm
Yeah for sure, and no worries glad I can help
:D
After some professional advice from u guys - so clear night for a bit so set up outside I can see 100s of stars my phone can see it but when I take shot on the ASIAIR it says 0 detected
I can’t see any to zoom on to focus
And can’t align cause not seeing stars
Taken from my phone
If I take a pic and press detect it says 0 if I press this it detects then fails
hi
i' m a starter and this is my best photo of saturn yet
i used the camera from a Samsung Galaxy A13 and a celestron atromaster 70 az
there
btw how do i remove that thing above saturn
This is a photo of the Milky Way from my redmi 10C with ISO 1250-2000 30s
Here ya go
Thank you and I've been trying to take a picture of the Milky Way for a long time and I finally got it
What bortle are you in?
Wow
I am in Italy
Sorry I'm Italian what does bortle mean?
I got a betyer setup so i take images like this
Bortle is a scale of light pollution
I can send you a link to a website which shows you that
Ok
Interactive world light pollution map. The map uses NOAA/EOG VIIRS, World Atlas 2015, Aurora prediction, observatories, clouds and SQM/SQC overlay contributed by users.
Click on your "approximate" location and it will tell you
Even for me sometimes there is a lot of light pollution but I go to a place where I can see many stars even if they are not many but already the fact that I managed to take the Milky Way
Here is a comparison between bortle 7 and 3
Anyway I'm trying to save money for a good telescope but I still don't know which one to start with I know celestron are the best but I don't know which one to get
Are you doing visual? And what are you watching the most? Maybe i could help
Planets or deep space?
I'd like to look at the planets because I've never seen them well with the naked eye or with a telescope and it seems like a good place to start
This is your choice
Ok thanks, I'll take a look at it
Or if size isnt a problem you can get a bigger ones but they cost more
Like this
DM me if you have questions
Ok no problem with the money there are with the first I just need to be able to take some pictures and be able to see the planets
Ok thanks you have been very helpful thank you
If you arent doing those pictures for long you can get a phone adapter for an eyepiece
No problem . And welcome to the hobby!
Ok I'll take that into consideration
Sorry i made a mistake i meant" if you arent doing these picures for long
I fixed it already
Ok thank you so much don't worry
I was already thinking about getting an adapter for the smartphone
Well I also think that now I'm going to sleep
I've been out watching the shooting stars now I'm a bit tired anyway thanks for everything
Tommorow and after tommorow is a huge meteor shower. Dont miss out!
I know I can't wait
Perseids to be exact
Same
Good night, I'm going to sleep now
ciaoo
Processing this is going to be fun
are there any alternatives to noiseXTerminator that arent like £60?
Deep SNR
it’s almost just as good and it’s free
I use DSS or ImagePlus or iris
