Was the moon above the horizon when you took this?
No I did wait until itās sets
With a reflector, it's easy... Just aim at a bright star, defocus the image, and keep centering the phone until the star appears perfectly round and not clipped (as it usually looks when misaligned). I'll see if I can find a video here
In this video you can understand it... Every time my phone gets misaligned, that cut appears on the (unfocused) star. You just need to make it 100% round without clipping the sides or top/bottom. My telescope was slightly out of collimation when I recorded this video, but the method is still clear
I should've even raised the phone a bit in that video to make it 100%, but when I recorded it, I didnāt have the Tridaptor. I used one of those basic adapters.
As soon as I can, Iāll record an updated one.
Iām in a Bortle 4.5 currently. What can I expect to see when the moon sets?
Is the Milky Way core visible?
It should be pretty visible
Very visible
Alr thanks for the feedback
Hdr mineral moon
My night was absolutely amazing, but it could have been much better. We found a parking lot in a b5.3 zone but with absolutely no lights at all, which was perfect. Iām surprised I couldnāt see the core, but I could see the MW from Scutum to even Cassiopeia. Most stars Iāve ever seen in my life, and also first time seeing the MW in person.
180, 10 second images stacked using AstroShader also edited using the app and camera app editing tools
I can't wait to see your reaction to Bortle 1 or 2 skies.
Did you see the Lagoon naked eye?
I did see a very faint patch of light that way, so I assumed it was that
I am unfortunately back in my b8.6 š
Also saw what I think was a meteor around the constellation Cepheus-Cassiopeia

how do you process with the circle
I just ignore its existence, and at the end of the processing, I apply a circular mask over the area to darken it a bit
Just made a small time lapse 10min in B4
Near the end of processing, the edges end up like this, without contrast.
Then I do what I mentioned above: a simple circular mask and darken them again.

I now have your location
Some nice skies you've got there!
There are some nice dark patches locally, but can be difficult. Hoping to have a road trip to Keilder Forest which has a great dark sky rating
Ooh best of luck, hope you can see the milky way
ha just saw this.. I'm not too worried about revealing photo location. Come get me š

Nice!
Tip for those having trouble doing DBE/Background extraction with the eyepiece edges getting in the way: Create a mask to cover the edges. I made this one with the (GAME) plugin, but a range mask should work as well. It removes gradients much better without interfering with the eyepiece edges.
I was casually taking videos of the moon with my phone and telescope when all of a sudden a airplane decided to go across the moon
I think this is the only time when clouds made sum look better lol. Nice pic btw!
Thanks

Bruh why it send liek that hold on
I js took a ss
Dc degraded it making it look very noisy
I probably sent this like 3x
yeah, I could defenitly look into recentering the frame and search for some square image settings, that would improve the results a bunch probably
The thing is that they will still not be a nice square after processing because I don't have a guide system
like, this is my current setup. And because my phone camera is so weak I do have to take many pictures to get results. The second and third pictures are the first and last image from my stacking.
You cna try do planetary
I have same aperture just f/5
You have longer fl
But dso is still possible w your rig
Saturn is out rn
Whta phone do you have

I've indeed done planetary already too as it doesn't really require stacking to be bright enough.

Wow, so clear and dark!

At least not bad in photography
I wonder what the live view of hubble or some other large telescope would actually look like
There ain't no way

No get out
how did u do this tho is that like a screen from far away
Yes I just Zoom on my MacBooks screen with 66x magnification
Looking at the Eyepiece and seeing it is so Cool and so impressive to

actually gives a really impressive effect
Yes you need to try it to, is sometimes different
Amazing how your telescope suddenly went from 3 to 4 spikes!
Could someone help me see if i could edit away the streetlight in the bottom of the image?
Or atleast make it less bright
is that andromeda?
Yes and milkyway too
yeah i got a couple pictures of milky way and andromeda too but theyāre kinda ass
andromeda isnāt in either
Yeah conditions were perfect that night could see milkyway arms (not core) in full moon and B7 idk how
Prob bc the moon was very low but still
fr i could too it was crazy
what day did you do it on?
Idk was a few weeks ago
i did it on thursday
Nice
iāve never seen it so perfect before
never even seen the milky way with my own eyes before that
yeah it is iphone 13 pro max
and
iām not sure about bottle
bortle
Same never saw the milkyway even the core but i did faintly see the arms that night
Ahh nice
You can look on https://www.lightpollutionmap.info even tho its a bit outdated but would give you a good idea

Ahh nice same as me
I am 6.5
5.8 where i live but still think its outdated bc doesnt look like b5.8 more 6.5 somewhere
but iām soon going to head to bortle 4 for a night
Niceee
gonna bring my telescope and try get andromeda
iāve already seen it with binoculars
so i imagine with my telescope it should be pretty good
Got this with very bad conditions and a store grade telescope
did you just use a phone?
Idk why it looks so weird prob artifacts from stacking stacks
Yup just a phone and a manual mount
for camera
nice
so
hopefully i can get a decent picture
Yeah you prob can whats your scope?
itās not the best but let me check
so the very cheap one
then celestron powerseeker 127eq
iāll be taking both of them because why not
when it isnāt cloudy all day
O 70mm Apeture is pretty low but i think you could be able to get something without moon and b4 360mm fl is pretty good for andromeda
wouldnāt the 127eq be better or is it just better for planetary stuff?
Is it tracked or untracked?
iām interested in space but donāt know much about telescopes lol
itās got a thing but i donāt have a clue on how to fit it
What is the āthingā
a motor
Because untracked with a 1000mm focal length scope (like yours) is reallt hard and not really doable
Oo you know what kind of motor?
uhhh iām not to sure
let me
quickly finish cleaning my room
and iāll check
iāll be a couple minutes
Sure no problem
Let me look
Tried reading the manual? Im not very familiar yet with tracking mounts since i dont have one yetš but its definitely worth checking it will help you ALOT having a tracking mount
āMotor Drive
Turn your manual German equatorial mount into a tracking mount by adding the included RA motor drive to your telescope. This easy-to-install RA motor drive compensates for the Earthās rotation, so the telescope tracks a starās movement through the night sky from east to west. When the telescope mount is properly polar aligned and the RA drive is attached and running, the user need only make occasional adjustments in declination (Dec) to keep an object in the eyepiece for long periods of time. The Celestron single-axis motor drive runs on a 9V battery, so there are no cords to get in the way. The drive can be used in either the Northern or Southern Hemisphere. To change hemispheres (reverse the motorās direction), simply by flip the N/S switch on the face of the motor drive. It is also simple to change the speed of the motor. A āSpeed Rate Regulatorā knob is located just under the power indicator and can be turned in either direction to slow down or speed up the motor. Since solar system objects like the Moon and planets move through the sky at different rates than deep-sky objects do, this gives you the ability to match the motorās speed to the particular type of object you are observing.ā
It says this on the website maybe this helps you a bit on how the motor works just have to figure out how to instal it and polar align it
thank you iāll try do it tonight and if i get it working hopefully ill get some good andromeda pictures

so not too bad?

what apps can i use for stacking pictures on a phone?
You want to stack images? Or capture?
Astroshader
Openlivestacker on android
You cant stack already shot photos tho only live stack with those two
or you could upload them to Google drive and ask someone to stack them for you
iām just wondering for when i capture andromeda
which will be some time in the future when thereās not clouds
thank you
Thanks man milkyway is way more visible
Did you figure out how to get the scope on the motor?
not yet i think itāll have to wait till tomorrow becuase im tired i had to move a cabinet fish tank rat cage then clean my room out then workout and also walk my dogs
i should use grammar
Ahhh i get it but do you know how to make subs with astroshader? Or livestacks?
no i donāt really know anything at all about that stuff lmao
Ahh alright did you ever use astroshader or also no?
also no
while iāve had my telescope the only target ive used it on is the moon so ive never thought of using it
Hmmm maybe you could download that already and get familiar with the layout for tomorrow
You have 2 telescopes and only tried the moon with them?
the cheap one i used it on orion and the Pleiades but i was a very big beginner then so i had no clue what i was doing one bit
and my bigger one i got a little after and most the time ive had it itās been cloudy
Ahh yeah i did my orion with the lunar cap on when i was a beginneršš
and when itās not cloudy full moon
i did that a couple times
This was my orion still decent tbh but it was like 20 minutes for thisš
thatās pretty good
i never got anywhere close to that
just a blurry zoomed out photo
Yeah i mean for lunar cap and store grade store
Youāll get there one day i mean this was my very first (also with lunar cap)
well hopefully tomorrow goes well and i can get my finder scope perfectly aligned and also the motor working
if so then thatāll be a massive help
Yeah motor working would be amazing specially for 1000mm will definitely help you alot and get great images
alright iām gonna go finish all the stuff im doing then i might be back
can i add you?
Alright
Sure
thank you
If you want i could also explain a bit how astroshader works for tomorrow or atleast what i would do
thatāll be pretty helpful
Alright just tell me when your done finishing your stuff and ill tell you
thank you i will be like quite a bit becuase im gonna shower
but iāll message as soon as i can
Alright nw take your time
Hell nahh donf get that
Get a dob i beg
Atleast 8inch
Mount is š©On all the power seeker and eq
Maybe some but the scopes are bird jones
He already has it
Wants to try andromeda with it so its either 127eq with the included tracker or a random store scope
With 70mm aperture
What b?
7
He'll probably get good results
But i think hes going to a 4
I had dust lanes in b6
Got this with my shitty store grade scope in a b7
So he can definitely get something
Thanks it was 40 minutes of data tho so its not insanely good but if i get more the artifacts and things just get worse bc im stuck with stacking stacks
My scope is 80mm
Still not bad tho
Yeah cant wait for orion to come in season with the things i learned
Last time i did orion i didnt even know i had to take the lunar cap off
With good seeing its defo worth it for visual
So my aperture was basiclly 20mm
Yeah hope so but will try photographing with things i learned hope can get a better result then this
This was 20 minutes
Of data
Yooo
With lunar cap
Yeahš
Lemme find a single sub of 1
This one is edited by herioc frog same data
Yeah i had to do subs of 1 sec bc i was untracked had to transfer and process like 4000 framesš
Fr same here single sub
We all start somewhere
Yeah
Im ginna have ro lock in for gcse then cook ap next December
I think my best pic so far is either dumbell or m51
M57 is a great target
I have one with more data on m51 but its somehow worse
Idk how
Looks more bloated yk
Out of focus probably
Yeah probably
Still nice image for a phone and untracked store grade
I think i did kind of pushed my setup to the limit now tho so have to save up for a actual good setup
Only orion left as a actually good target because im untracked im stuck to 0.75 sec exposures and well if you want to get a 30min image you can calculate how many frames and its a pain specially if they are 100mb each or its stacking stacks which also isnt ideal
that's very decent for a phone AP image
it's mid for phone ap but for a department store scope it's great
Idk if I'd call it mid personally, it's better than the vast majority of what most phone AP looks like
(most of it looks awful)
you can easily do that if you have a basic idea of what you're doing
most is awful bc they have no idea what they're doing
I mean, yeah I guess
I did this with nothing but my iPhone 12 and my StarBlast dob, but objectively it still looks worse than most Orion Nebula images taken with an actual AP rig, even with less than ideal processing

Might have Got 3I/Atlas (C/2025 N1) though could just be noise lining up with the expected position not really confident enough to put in solar system pics. 39x16s 10.4 minutes
Not bad
You can improve focus tho

This is one of my first orions, I miss having diffraction spikes, cause for some reason I donāt get them anymore

Very bad , but very cheap
What phone holder do you use !1
This one... Tridaptor 3Axis

how do you get such nice star colors in your images?
Bortle 4... The star colors just pop even in a single sub
For processing, I usually do a masked stretch, it helps preserve the star colors better after the stretching. But for this video, I literally just opened the raws in LR and exported them to make the video
Ah, that'd do it

Eagle nebula Reprocessed 152x16s
How do get this type of HDR effect , I'm fairly new to lunar , I have video of 30s is it enough data for this or do I have to bracket?
i use phone with telescope, take moon pic as many as you can with Raw settings(adjust your setting with your current phase moon) i recommend 100+, and you need to recenter the moon also, because eyepiece make distortion. Second you wanna take the over exposure moon pic. 1 pic should be enough. Next step, you wanna stack those moon pic in laptop/PC, i usually use PIPP, it usually align all of your moon images, export is as a TIFF(note, make sure to uncheck the monochrome setting), and click process, 2nd you wanna open autostakkert, this app stacks all of your TIFF image to make 1 image, you wanna analyse first, then look at the graph, if it does look good i usually stack like 50-75 percent of them, and you should get the Final Tiff image, and you wanna take the TIFF Files into Registax 6, what it does? its sharpening the moon image, take it slowly, dont overdo it, it will become oversharpened, Save it as a Tiff Files with different name. Open Photoshop, open the sharpened moon image, if its Like waxing crescent, you need 3 images, full moon, your current moon phase, and over exposure, first thing align your current phase moon with the full moon(align it with low opacity), if you think its aligned, then set the opacity of FULL moon image like around 10-20 percent, then merge them into 1 complete image (ctrl + shift + e), then you need to mask the MERGED moon image to seperate the moon and the background and voila your almost done. To make the glow part, you wanna take the overexposure image and set it below the moon layer, align it then you are done, adjust the exposure, highlight etc as you want
But if you are doing videos, its ok also, its still same procedure except the pipp one, open the vid files, uncheck the monochrome settings, crop the image if needed, export is as AVI files, and the rest is same still
Yes
But if you are doing with your phone, you can do it at pixelab, Ibis paint
Procedure its still same with PC one
Looks amazing, what bortle

Very nice job on this!
what is the best way to get the milky way with iphone? ive tried a couple times and they all look trash
tripod + raw photo mode + long exposures + good editing
What edits should I do?
stack in sequator if you have foreground, or any other software if its just sky. then do ur typical dso edits
I tried this exact method but iphone still denoises it so much
And it saves the files in dng which is annoying
even with pro raw or whatever its called?
Idk dont have it
oh the old iphones dont i think
there might be apps that could give you more control
Astroshader?
I mean i got the 15 pro
I capture this with IPhone 13 and AstroShader App, from Bortle 4-5
You need a Dark Place to get a good image for Milkyway
What were the subs
10sx48 iso 1100
Nice
I wonder if you could move the tripod just a bit to get rid of the walking noise
Kinda like dithering
I even stack all images with Siril still noisie I know
I also have this, its much better almost no noise
you can still get some really nice milkyway pictures from very light polluted areas, this is 16 mins untracked in a bortle 8 shot on a pixel 9 pro fold, i couldnt tell you exact settings because it was a year or 2 ago. i used deep sky camera
(this is the cygnus portion of the MW not the entire thing)
H-how
Wait what exactly is walking noise? Why does it stay consistent image to image?
If you zoom into the image you can see loads of lines
Thats walking noise
Like multiple image stacked with the same noise pattern that moves along with the stars
Or whatever
And by dithering or slightly moving the position you wont have the same noise pattern = no walking noiee
Yes but what exactly causes it? Isn't noise random?
Idk
Thats what i know, barely studied it
But i know when doing dso you move your telescope just slightly, or touch it, so you dont have the same noise that when is stacked they line up
My image is so cooked and noisy and wrecked

Actually I used auto exposure to get even lower exposure
Almost 2h20min
The processing is so clean, you got the raw stack?

they did eventually pass though

milky way 1 hour and 30 minutes
i have a really bad stacking with the northen one
idk why, maybe im untracked i guess
I was just testing the guiding yesterday after restoring thenotebook⦠I waited a bit, but I barely managed to do the polar alignment.
I only got to guide for a short time, but it looks like itās guiding well again
i wonder if it's possible to use a phone to guide
Itās possible⦠you just need one of those apps that use your phoneās camera as a webcam in windows. Iāve tested it before and it works
I do but I don't really want to share it
Oh ok
Does anyone here know how to do planetary with an iphone?
I just cant get a clean video of a planet
Yeah
Lmao how can i help
I dont own a iPhone tho
Well everytime i try and take a video of jupiter for example it turns into a white blurry ball

I think the iphone is not built for planetary
Ngl once i used iphone for dso this thing does it automatically and give the most shittiest results
Dsp it does great but planetary i gotta steal my sisters redmi
Astroshader
Doing ir manually is so kuch better
Ikr
Nah i was using my aunts iPhone for dso just does random stuff
It did take long exposure tho
Oh ywha
I tried on jupiter whenever i tap it it goes bright
Yea woth moon its similar but better since its bigger
Use the redmi make sure to take raw video and set focus to max
If you need help i can try process for you
Ill def reach out for you once i have clear sky
Np brother
Seeing also matter, Jupiter in this month, it's not really high yet, it's kinda low, December is the sweet spot for capturing jupiter
Need like atleast 25 degree from horizon, in order to capture the Jupiter band and not having blurry one
Visually it was fine
Easily could detect the bands
I seee
are there any android phone live stacking apps?
I js use it stacks well gives good results
deep sky camera can do it
but you need pro version
Use ProMovie app is free, you can manuell change ISO And shutter and focus,
Ill try it, thanks
Openlivestacker
It's pretty good
Shadow transit of Titan, taken at Washburn Observatory (15.6" f/16 refractor) with a 10 mm eyepiece
Something is spying,
Captured with a 7x50 bino 10min total exposure
high bortle photo, does anyone know why its static-y? 30s exposure
taken from default camera app on "pro" mode, anyone know a decently beginner friendly app for stacking?
dss
lot of tutorial on how to set it
can you take raw? dont do "expert raw" if your on samsung, normal raw will be in advanced photo options
1GB storage for a 1min videoš š
cause its 4k 60fps
When I record on MotionCam, itās 1.4 GB per second of video
my phone camera broke over the summer (it fell out of my pocket while tying my laces and it landed on a corner) so here's the last astro related image I took (11 july)
Its so cool
Moon hasn't even rised up in the horizon for me š
Damn
Iāll pretend these are actually from the moon and call it a day
I just saw it, for the first timeš
lucky
it's cloudy for me
We twinning
might go for second penumbral phase
cropped jpeg + raw
I'm unhappy I missed this blood moon unfortunately
But oh well
I did get the one in March
Shot on Pixel 8 Pro on March 2025 eclipse, 115mm lens, tripod only, no external assistance or optics
I tried the unbinned mode to get 230mm equivalent however quad bayer doesn't help in low light
Not as good IMO
guys in deepskycamera whenever i put exposure abouve 3 secs, it outputs pure black images
my phone has max exposure of 10secs with built in pro mode
(samsung A36 5g)
seeing was very very terrible
yeah idk what artifact its that
ive spent like total amount to get this blood moon lmaoo
lmaooo tried mineral moon AT moon eclipse
gone very very wrong hahaha
Yea uhh doesnt look too right
you need to get rid of the colour gradient, maybe try siril background extraction with a high amount of smoothing?
idk ill try
thumb reveal
I got my first "good photos" of jupiter and the moon. Also I would like to ask if the moon is to sharp and if I should change it?
That's a nice amount fo sharpeneds
oversharpened
Alright ty
Might have to try again on a moonless night. had to stretch it a lil bit which brought out some unwanted noise in post but happy with it for now :b

what do i need to be to be able to send pics
Be a protostar premium
premium?
h
Now you can post pics
wa wait omg thanks who did that?
you?
thanks dawgg
we have pleadies, andromeda and 2 milkyways
No
who then?
A mod ig
Pretty cool andromeda
thanks to that mod ig
yeah i didnt focus perfectly the first time so i did it again
bortle 4
IQOO phone id say 5mm camera
like they look more light poluted than b4?
Yea
i think ik why
Maybe its the exposure/ iso fault
20.54 mag/arcsec^2 is the SQM where my house is exactly and also the milkyway was in the direction of inner city which is a B5
also i think the astmoshephere was more hazy
also we have 50*12sec = 10 mins for both andromeda and both milkyways. 7 x 12 sec = 1.4 for pleadeis
Not bad
h
The moon is going infront of venus tomorrow
Waiting for the day venus goes in front of the moon š would make a great photo
For me itās gonna pass really close to it but not go in front of it
it was cloudy (no surprise there)
same, it was clear-ish sometimes but was hazy due to thin clouds
for me it was complete thick cloud coverage
got this interesting effect where the stars somehow didnt trail when I picked up my phone prematurely
lol
we in the trenches now
Revive phone astrophotography guys
a
I agree!
Bro I canāt upload images idk why , itās disabled for me
I did captured many images but canāt share
You guys need to be protostar premium
Smt new in here
Kinda shet but
Ask the mods in general to get the role
Yeah no chance
i need to return to phone ap to revive it
I stopped looking at Phone AP when I got my Uranus C
These were the days...
(Literally 2 months ago)
my phone ap from like a year ago
Orion one is particularly awesome
In comparison to mine
Mines too outta focus and muddy
lol ty, yeah its better than any orions ive been able to get lately, it was however processed by an absolute processing legend tho, so
still one of the best shots of Orion with an actual normal phone I've ever seen
"Normal" as in like, not captured with those crazy Xiaomi phones with the enormous camera sensors
yeah i was good at phone ap, maybe i should go back
a lot of people here used to consider me one of the best phone apers, obv lucas is way better than me but before lucas showed up i was lol
Phone astrophotography is so underrated. It's one thing to image with the Sheer Power⢠of my rig, but it's another to be able to turn a phone camera into a viable astrophotographic tool
oh yeah, the one reason i wanted to get out of it is because low exposure times (but thats because i didnt have an eq mount at the time) and then you have transferring files over
plus then i dont have my phone if i need it
and then aligning the camera with the eyepiece was annoying, i couldnt find like any phone mount that worked really well for my scope
8 min exposure of the orion and the flame nebula
VERY LITTLE bit of flame nebula
also this phone is like 15,000 inr or 126 pounds
so yeah its a kinda cheap phone
get horsehead
i did last year
Bruu i need protostat plus man
Day 2 of asking for it
Yayy
Mw
11min in b4
1600iso 13s
Seeing was good
very noisy ik maybe couldve done bit more on calibration
phone : IQOO ZS 5G
exposure : 12 x 81 = 16 min
ISO : 1250
B4 sky
guys idk about u ppl but i can see the pinkish hue of the horse head nebula im sooo blown away
THIS PHONE AINT EVEN EXPENSIVE ITS CHEAP
I can get some sunspots with the iPhone 17pro
Looks like the moon
Tbh full moon does feel like the sun when imaging
ISS with my 114/500 telescopes
If you need help also to capture ask me
would be cool to put that on a small startracker like move-shoot-move and try to image a bright DSO with a camera app like astroshader, i bet it wouldn't look half bad
I donāt have a startracker but I got some good images with AstroShader
This was my one of the best image with AstroShader app
sending hi so that this forum dosent disappear from quick access
Sunset
Pls tell me if you know what the settings where i need a pic like that lol
1s sub Iso 32000 magnification 25x total 30min
Ok thx
I live in 5 but i can acess 4
Good
Wow you got that from 6, nice!
this is kinda neat looking actually
I don't know what aesthetic this would align with but it's definitely something
You probably covered the camera just before you picked it up
Thatās actually nice, I donāt think that my B9 would be able to get that lol
My first successful stack from 30 second vid pipp, autostakkert, registaxx and gimp (25% of best frames from the video)
I took the vid with my iphone 13mini in the normal camera app
nice
B9
My andromeda 3h from B9
it looks great but 3 hrs š
I captured this in 5 different nights, my field of view was very limited and I only could capture andromeda Rising from horizon
I see
Get rid of walking noise? Moving it won't really help, you need to rotate it slightly. Or just use calibration frames
iPhone 17 Pro just 30s regular Kamera App, Bortle 6
jic siril background extraction should be able to handle those circular color LP patterns
The Moon with the IPhone 17 Pro 4x Tele Kamera
Slightly out of focus
Prob has a lot of digital zoom, focus looks great
Yeah i think the softness of the image comes from the ai image correction that Apple's cameras use
makes the image quality a lot better, but when you zoom in really far like that it starts getting funky
I think it's most likely due to image interpolation, like bicubic
Captured Comet lemon
7min , Bortel 6
orion 16 min
phone : IQOO ZS 5G
Thats so inpressive
Thanks, I had to wake up early for
Yea ill wait just a bit more
Also you used astroshader to capture that?
Yes, but did the most stack in Lynkeos
Oh ok
Been a while since i was active here why can't I put images anymore?
Aperantly there was a spamming issue so now you need to get manually verified by a mod
Tried something. 6x5s on a Iphone 16 pro using the 120mm lens
will def add more to it
How can I get protostar premium
Idk ask in general chat
how long of exposures do you guys do?
i am doing 16 rn but i think i can push harder
iPhone 17 Pro 4x Tele Kamera live View, Orion nebula, Plejades, Jupiter and andromeda galaxy
Bortel 6, Northern skys
16 secs exposure is always better than 16 x 1sec exposures
widefield
Ohhh widefield
Between 10 and 30 sec rly
I see
C20 (North American Nebula)
Equipment-
Samsung A36
Cheap mobile stand
26.6mins exposure
b5
Why can I only create a poll?
Not a protostar premium
Is this astroshadr live view?
Yes
send imgur link
You don't have to pay unless you're talking about booster
How do you get protostar premium?
Mods give it to you
Ask
Jupiter this morning with my 12ā Dobsonian and iPhone 14 Pro seeing was very good as well as transparency best of 1% and 5% frames stacked
Jupiter with my 114/500 telescope, camera iPhone 17 Pro.
Good stuff
Quick question, what app do you use to capture videos of jupiter?
Same question for you, this looks like a proper astro cam image
ProMovie App
Base camera app 4K 60fps but I use the AF lock feature and turn down the shutter speed and iso with that
The what
I use openlivestacker (heres my result)
https://discord.com/channels/794642864218439681/1327123837925462066
Took this a few days ago, but didn't have protostar premium
Niceeee
Iphone?
Android (samsung A04e)
Oh i was asking for iphone
It was so much easier to do planetary with a samsung
I see
Daytime Trapezium Cluster 32x0.1s 3.2 seconds. magnitude limit of 7 or 8
Wdym day time?š
the sun was up
Did u take this pic during the day?
yes
....
How much
very near to sunrise but my telescope was casting shadows
In orion
Yea
Andromeda Galaxy and Caroline's Rose Cluster
Samsung A36 5g
100 x 16 sec
Stacked using Sequator (To combat rotation)
Processed using Astrosurface,gimp,siril
b5
Why can't I send files
@silk ginkgo

@coral cedar try now
Thank you very much
ring nebula thru my 150mm reflector
single 2 sec exposure in full moon in b4
it's definitely there
this image took me 1 day to edit š
fyi: i took the cloud seperately, then i combined them together to make a composite image like this
Sick one
Thank you very much
Was the cloud frame taken in the same night or during the day?
I occasionally see similar moon/cloud composites on Instagram with cumulonimbus which dont really form at night (??)
Hey thanks for asking, I shot the cloud during the day, cumolonimbus indeed form at night also but I kinda don't like shooting the cloud at night since it has noise later I have to deal with, so i shot the cloud during the day, darken it and blend them together
I see, thanks!
Ig sunlight also adds contrast to the clouds which can make them look more.. Cloudy
Correct, I can adjust the cloud itself as I want, cuz it has no noise haha
Saturn is in a star cluster rn
It's getting confused between different parts of the moon, increase the AP size
Confused*
Actually not, it's just near 4 bright stats
Donāt let the Moon drift across the whole field of view... Thatās caused by eyepiece distortion
that'd be nice IF I COULD SEE IT
got it
i live in B4
i wonder what Bortle 1 and 2 would look like.
Not as huge of a gain tbh. Bortle 6 to 4 is a massive jump compared to Bortle 4 to 2.
i wonder what bortale 1 and 2 would look like compared to bortle 6 and 7
Ah, well lucky you. I get to stay at a Bortle 4 for only 2 ~ 3 days every year, with the rest of the year consisting of Bortle 7.5 ~ 8.
6.5 mins orion thru 150mm in B4
Why canāt i post images here
need protostar premuim
Ah dang it
Where do I get protostar premium
Ask a mod
what phone? I feel like you should've gotten more detail than this for B4
especially through a 150mm OTA
bro sky condition plays a major role if ur sky is hazy asf it will be like a B9 in B4
IQOO Z7S 5G
or maybe im not good at processing
better attempt at processing
Since when
idk a guy told me and i somehow got protostar premium and i cloud send pics
is there a wildfire around your scope wtf
that would never happen tbh
š
idk i just checked and i found out the camera wasnt getting the light of the full mirror surface
just a little part of it
i live in india and the skys are poluted asf and also the nebula ws like 45deg above the horizon
i mean ppl blow cracekers every 10 mins in my city so
Yeah tbf i can relate
True if you are just south of the himalayas, add like 2 to your bortle
how the fck did u know?????????????????
like whaattttttttt bro how???
Weird, hadnāt been a requirement before
Idk why they would do that like whats the point wasent this whole thread to let new amateurs post their progress??
@balmy ravine tell me how did u dox meš ?
orion nebula 12 mins thru a 150mm F5 newtonian in b4 using a 230$ phone's camera
It's very hazy in north Pakistan
i mean how did u know that i live just south of himalyas?
janab apko is baat ka ilm kaha se hua?
I didnt prep myself for this Pic because I had to go to work, but here's moon a Venus about an hour ago
I dont?

Very good weather here, since two weeks
e
same, this has been on for like 3 weeks
looking forward to fri/sat nights to go see a6 more
Comet A6 Lemmon from a couple hours ago, framed by the eyepiece border and garnished with some foreground trees.
Shot through my Orion StarBlast with my iPhone 12, ~30x magnification, Bortle 7.5, somewhere around 8:00 PM.
