#Phone Astrophotography

Seeing was great today
Definitely one of my best moon photos, and probably my best cresent moon photo
The Sun today
attempts were made but there was an atmosphere
M51 and m101 with Celestrone Skymaster 7x50 Pro Ed 5min exposure and 10 min exposure
that’s so cool
Yeah but Small
It’s actually first time trying binoculars
boom
boom
Guys, i am at b4 for this month with absolutely no studies
The only thing is unpridictable rainfall
I’m sure you can find at least one clear night there dw
Is it like an island or something? I went to Kauai on vacation and tried to capture omega centauri and the jewel box but the area was COVERED by clouds despite the weather app saying it would be clear
Its close to costal area
Weather app says fog is the issue, is it really an issue, clear rn
Ill try again tonight
Sun with 7x50 bino
this is giving me an idea
tape eclipse glasses to phone
bino on that
hehehehhehe
Not the phone bino get the Solar filter
solar filter is expense
already have eclipse glasses
But the glasses are to Small
they're big enough to fit over my phone
they're just big enough to fit over the bino lens too
I was gonna do it
solar glasses on end of bino
phone on the eyepiece bit
Ok better 😅
like this
But it’s also risky with my method I need to hold the filter. If I drop it’s bad
I have to hold everything up and it's also windy as hell rn so ye
oh would you look at that it just started raining
Normal also here in Germany Rain and sunshine
got a lot of storms speeding over UK rn
kinda annoying bc there's so many
it's like rain for a minute sun for a minute
Oh I heard of that 😅
part of me wants one to throw down a tornado
I never saw a Tornado in my entire live
me neither
always wanted to see one
but UK only gets like 30 a year
mostly off squall lines iirc
I also like to see but also dangerous
yea
Yesterday
so i tried it and the biggest problem was i could not line up my phone and the bino no matter how hard i tried
to make it worse my phone was dying so the screen dimmed so much i couldnt see anything on it
and for the second i managed to line it up my hand cramped
i would advise against putting eclipse glasses onto the end of your binos to look thru
don't use eclipse glasses on your binos
only full aperture filters are safe
ah
Through smoke or just lots of atmosphere?
With just my phone lol
@prisma raft im pretty sure it is brottle 5 ...
my sky...
i think its 5 ...
@ivory thunder ... your thoughts?
is it five or more
At nighte the sky is more black or a bit more blue
I'd say this is around 5 yea
oh, to be fortunate enough to have below bortle 8 skies...
Did I just see a bright meteor?????? Saw a green light moving quickly across the sky in the reflection off a window and then disappearing quickly
definitely an alien
U in the southern hemisphere? I saw a video of someone recording it w aurora australis
Nope, birmingham
Might have been a plane at low altitude
It is factually a UFO
Check on news once i saw one a bright one during sunset and ir went on news like 1 week later
What the hell is this new Sever logo?
dont bring it to this thread plz
make sure to express your opinion in #1369694419963613295 message
I didn’t see it thanks
Whats the difference? Apart from exposure and white balance?
2 of the photos are softer
no. 2
The Moon with my 7x50 bino
I also made a less stylized and artistic one mainly for detail
Very Sharp and Good Quality. Keep going
lmao it looks nearly exactly like with my s20 ultra
Thanks
Crazy Lowligh pollution ist Cheat code
Looks so good wow
Single 25 second test shot of M65 and M66 through my Telescope
You photographed it with a IPhone I can tell this
I think we all know that
Is this IPhone 12?
Yes
How I Know😂😭
all those photos are and I got a iPhone 13 Pro Max
lol
But Good for singen 30s low lightpolution is carrying
2
Moon like few months ago
Through a cloud?
Either that or through dew
this should be in roast my image
Anything good and bright from michigan this summer?

Yes
There's this one G2V star which is at magnitude –26.7
i heard its regularly blocked by giant clouds of water vapor though
M57, 22min Total 1x1329 ISO 32000. Stacked in Deepsky Stacker, Progress in Siril.
Condition bad: it was nearly full moon in Bortle 6
Andromeda Galaxy (M31)
Bortle 6
74 5 second exposures
Wasn’t able to get more integration time as I was shooting through trees 😭
Andromeda galaxy Really low on horizon right now, I will wait until August
I am expecting better results from January though, focus is probably my biggest issue
Good idea
Southern hemisphere is so lucky in terms of night sky, clean pics my friend ,exif ?
I'm still trying to merge this part with main core for my panorama , failure everytime , tried everything and now its cloudy
iPhone 16 pro, 3200iso, a mix between 10 and 30s exposures.
Bro you need to try AstroShader app
Longer exposure and Clearer and Save in Real RAW format
Actually haven’t tried it since I got my new phone.
You have to try. You should get amazing results
Yeah I will. It was very good last time I tried it.

hey have anyone ben taking photos of the moon for the past 4 or just the last 2 days ? I've been trying to make a vid with the all of the moon phases but the weather isn't helping
M22 30x16s 8 minutes of exposure on pixel 8 pro. limiting magnitude 15-16ish.
just took a few now
cool thank you very much
no prob
Jpeg, raw, raw with white balance adjustment
was looking through the background and found two 2.6 Billion light year distant galaxies and very tentatively a 2.9 Gyr distant galaxy.
SDSS J095324.38+693648.7 - 2.938 Gyr realized i forgot to put the name
What is that?
not all pictures are that good but i tried my best
That big fat rock in the sky that produces a ton of light pollution
so does the big fat ball of fire
it produces so much light pollution that it changes the colour of the sky when it's up, and can even tint it when just below the horizon
wow that's crazy, I should try looking for this thing
could potentially have some scientific significance
I've heard it causes the aurora
Had a go with the iPhone 16 lwk kinda impressed not insane obviously but alr, shot threw 10 inch dob
Are these stacked at all? Or is it just pressing your phone on the eyepiece and taking a single exposure?
there raw not stacked or edited
2
Ah ok. That would certainly do it
IC 1101 on phone 126x16s
Mg 17.75
i think its more like magnitude 13
Strawberry Moon of 2025
Mars Today. 114/500 2x Barlow and 3x Barlow plus a 6mm eyepiece = 500x Magnification
kid named magnification limit:
Max useful magnification on your telescope is around 180x on average seeing. Going above that just blurs the image more rather than making it any better
Maximum useful magnification, with absolute perfect seeing conditions at high altitude would be about 200x, maybe 225 if you're really feeling lucky and want to push it to the absolute maximum theoretical limit, but even still I would not go above 150x with a telescope of that aperture
I should mention, maximum useful magnification increases with aperture, but even in absolute perfect conditions and seeing, you generally don't/won't need anything higher than 350 ~ 500 power to have fun. Unless you're doing insane planetary imaging, and need several thousand times magnification and your telescope mirror is bigger than a dinner plate
Lower magnification is generally better for visual, you can push it a little on the planets but anything higher than 50 ~ 100 power isn't usually needed
Mars is not an ideal target for a telescope like yours, unfortunately.
Especially now that it's left opposition
jesus christ you cant be stacking barlows on top of each other

how tf were you able to to even find mars
bro is shooting at f/26.32
Guys Chill I know 😅 I just having fun. My Normal setup is just 6mm and 2x Barlow wich is only 166x
How the hell did you imahe that lmao with a f/5 tge exit pupil would be in its nano metre still impressive how you aligned your phone
Bro I shot mars 10min after sun set
I just found him with low magnification than switch eyepieces
Mars is so small, Even 500x
🔴
I love Albireo so much
Iphones casually having the ability to make the best looking lockscreens
Where Are you bro💀
It’s 59* at night?
Fahrenheit???
farenheit:
kid named Rankine:
M106 is lil blurry when zoomed is this by lack of dithering?
focal length, pixel size etc
Probably focus, the camera used...
I have eq3-2 motorised so maybe dithering or just mount itself
I used honor 90 its decent for ap
well well well...
Looks like you have triangle stars to, so probably bad polar alignnent, out of focus, bad tracking and a bad mix between camera and scope. Not bad for such gear
Lmao calm down only 30min data and through some cloud
I thought triangular stars were caused by the mirror being too tight
Pinched optics
Probably collimation
I imaged this few months ago I'll try again with another target
I just got a new mount it's much much better than my current
It is, i think its also due to not keeping the scope outside defore imaging too
cloud
parselenic circle
Wipe your camera with a cloth or your shirt, the lines are caused by skin oil on the camera
I don't know if it was the extreme humidity but everything I did to wipe that camera made it worse lol
☀️🦅🔭
Sometimes happens to me when your clothes are already oily
Looks like mine lol
Oh, I was covered in bug spray, that probably explains it
mmm selenium
I am from Turkey, but grown up in Germany
Hercules cluster (Abell 2151) 192x16s 51.2 minutes. bortle 6. magnitude limit of 17ish
207 photos stacked and edited 1600 iso 10s exp 33min of total exp in a bortle 3 area
i'm from turkey too
I'm staying in bortle 2 this weekend
But the midsummer sunlight will probably make it impossible to see anything
Dk why there is flare on those stars ,but tried to go for cygnus area before everything went cloudy
Thanks hugo for blurx
Maybe oily/dirty phone lens?
Probably the phone lens is dirty, and only the brighter stars are affected
Free diffraction spikes
Plane flying under the moon, It was early in the morning so I just took out my phone and shoot
It was 9:45(am) for me
ohh
bortle 2
What phone?
Samsung galaxy s23 ultra
Pretty noce innit, stars are really sharp too
I love it when this happens, suddenly get a feeling for the scale of things
I used manual focus
Nice
North America nebula?
Cygnus region prolly yeah
you sure this is b2?
This is in b5-6 for reference b2 would be crazy difference
Sadly in jpeg
Well thats either not bortle 2 or there were clouds, cuz this is BORTLE 7 and its somehow better than your “bortle 2”
Heres a bortle 2 i went to and with your eyes you could see basically the same thing
Maybe not fully dark enough mw didnt show enough structure but still
As in the 'b2' pic
Yeah I was shooting thru clouds and diffuse aurora but his b2 is definitely not evem close
V462 Lupi Nova 16x16s without a telescope at only 7 degrees above the horizon
It is midsummer so it never gets fully dark
Also that image was downgraded to show what it looked like with my eye
Original image
Short one bc of clouds
Way too much sunlight even after midnight
No processing bortle 3
M31 after months its relatively high in the sky no processing
This is very similar to what the milky way looks like from my house bortle 5 albeit with more stars
I'm too far north, too much sunlight
Anyone know how to remove this bright center spot from photos?
It's not the sky, just something my phone does on astrophoto mode
Tried editing and basically ended up just clipping everything
30 seconds B2 Navajo lake Colorado
Lemme try
Damn that looks better, what did you do?
Still impressive eveb at midnight sunlight its same for me aseell lmao
Same from Germany, it’s never really dark here
night one
The Eagle Nebula (M16)
This was an attempt to push myself and to test out my new phone (samsung s23 ultra). After an hour of issues, I had set up and only got about 25 minutes of data before calling it a night. I want to hopefully get out tonight again to gather more data so overall integration is better, and the details become more appearant.
What bortle??
Flat frames
Bortle 4
which lens?
Svbony 32mm eyepiece on an svbony 48p 90mm
Should've put my specs on the original message.
Looks really flat
An issue i have os my “flat field” eyepiece makes every image a nightmare
Could you elaborate some please?
I also did have a Flatfield eyepiece, it was horrible bad, even it cost 100€ I couldn’t get a sharp focus and Coma at the entire field of view
Exactly
Just look ag the stars
Night Two
Alright, second night out. Not so bad right? Well not necessarily. I had issues for over 30 minutes where my mount wouldnt goto the Eagle Nebula and it actually be there (however it worked fine for other targets, such as the dumbell nebula I snagged a photo of).
That being said, I did manage to eventually find it and got over an hour of data, putting my total integration to 80 minutes, which is by far the most I've ever had.
Since I didnt last time, I'll include equipment here:
- svbony 48p 90mm
- Svbony 32mm eyepiece and svbony uv/ir filter
- SWSA GTI
- Samsung s23 Ultra on pro mode
-Celesteon nexyz adapter
The pillars of creation is even visible, which is what I wanted the most out of this.
Anywas, its 4am, time to catch some Zz's
Simple 5x7s exposure totaling to 35s total time
Stacked in AstroShader
Edited in Lightroom
iPhone SE 3rd gen
B8/9
Not bad for b9
Forgot to share this too, but here's the dumbell nebula I got a quick 30s sub of
Iss?
No a random bird
Literally just took this to flex on fin
😔
That’s unlucky
Yay another b9 person
The closest B3 to me on land is a 5 HOUR drive 😭
Even worse for me😼
And I need 8h for b2
Not to brag but i got b3 at 1h and 30 min
I got b3 in by backyard
Same
up in the mountains for me
2 hours for me, south of newtown
Same here
Auto white balance + vingnetting correction + contrast adjustment
if you could try idk like shut the light from the house if you cant then try to go in an other zone or try to cover the light with a cloth
in rest good job
That's not light from the ground, it's sunlight (it's never dark in the uk in midsummer)
Can you share raw file , I want to give it a go in editing
Milky Way galaxy From Bortel 6.
iPhone 13, AstroSahder, 10x120 iso 1000
No Astro dark btw
Bortle 6 you can see the whole thing
Does anybody here has a problem when opening stellarium?
What kind?
Crashes when opening
Hmm no i didnt have
Maybe check updates or reinstall it
Hey! I messed up the focus on my latest MW image, so I have a hard time stacking, processing it. Anyone would like to give it a try? https://discord.com/channels/794642864218439681/1388848076424347800
Gonna turn straight to the best @iron bear
some from todays noctilucent cloud montage
Where is that? Uk?
I got images with north America nebula and lagoon nebula colours
I thought this was clouds appreciation form
rip
Target?
Lagoon
Them stars lookin Lil funny
They're trailed and it's through binos
Ah
Lagoon Nebula 11min data, Very Low in horizon, plus B6 sky
Realme 9 and I just sped up each frame in the capcut to 0.1 second lmao
74 frames I think
Guys ima real cook phone ap just wait
I use an autoclicker and photo mode for mine
Better to do jpeg if not stacking, saves storage space and timing is more consistent
Literally same workd best for intervolemeter
Ok thanks
Preciate it
The built in Astro mode turned out way better than I was expecting (eagle, m4 ,trifid, and Andromeda)
What diameter, exposure time, phone and app? Is this tracked?
Milkyway at 1am with my phone
130mm, 4+ minutes(it's automatic), pixel 8 pro, the default camera app, yes it is tracked
This is actually insane
very half Mon 🌓
Can I ask what phone? That eagle nebula is marvelous
Oh nvm found it
But your 4 minutes compared to my 1.5 hours (s23 ultra) is surprising
Dumbell nebula from using the astrophotography mode on my phone, it took 12 minutes to do then I touched it up a little in light room
I was able to even get a very very faint eastern veil nebula
Forecast and satellite were all lying to me, giving me false hopes of clear skies, and tonight's eagle nebula data was not usable. Will shoot for tommorow!
your 1.5 hours has way more dust
just needs better processing
My processings pretty buns
Might share my original stack here
Top 5 phone ap user
this is insane
Share it
Imma do it ASAP
Sounds good, thanks!
Whats the scope ur using
And camera
He uses S23 ultra as much as i remember
Svbony 48p 90mm, with a 32mm eyepiece, then yes, it is a s23 ultra
Dang
Aight im currently busy but imma start proccesing it in about 10-15 mins
No rush!
Rush? F1 movie reference
not much that i could do but you got nice signal in there just not the right optics
I imagine its just cause its eyepiece astrophotography atm
There is a lot of coma on the corners and the stars are bloated so i would say that its the eyepiece or scopes issue. Try asking @iron bear for any tips on what gear to buy for phone AP
Yeah I suppose that makes some more sense. There's lots of variables im not prestige at, like eyepiece alignment with phone, focus, etc.
But I appreciate the go and advice!
Yeah, a key factor would be the phone adapter, if its not properly aligned which would make sense for the streaking out of focus stars then i would suggets to buy a sturdier adapter and align the eyepicece properly
I use the celestron Nexyz, pretty good, im just pretty buns at alignment
ahh then its ok. Still nice data you got there
Very good phone ap mb best ive seen ngl
Maybe some ca and take few dark/flats but overall looks real good
I use darks, haven't tried much of flats
Love this like actually
Hi
I took this with my phone and some post processing. Do you like it?
I used a 10 mm eyepiece, 130 mm aperture and 650 mm focal lnenght (no barlow used)
You kinda fried it
M101 Pinwheel Galaxy 91x16s 24.26 Minutes. might be able to deal with walking noise better in DSS than in astrosurface but i have 3.5 hours worth of exposure in other targets to work on.
Abell 2218 308x16s 1 hr 22 min. at a distance of 2.345 Gly away and with some components reaching magnitude 20 this is the deepest image i have taken so far.
I love every phone ap user
someone remind me in like a month to do a crazy phone ap image
Fireworks Galaxy 78x16s 20.8 minutes.
Uploading the full version took a few attempts :|
That's crazy looking
Ofc rudloff is cooking with these lunar images
Haha thank you, i just came back yesterday, its been a while i dont touch my telescope
Very busy haha
Lol yea it happens, i see you still have those good skills
But mostly its processing skills right?
Anyone here got some crazy mw processing skills? I wanna see how good can my image get
Yeahhhhh its true
And you need like same frame since eyepiece had distortion
Cuz i got like 18 raw images of the moon and 8 brighter raw images and i wanted to stack them but idk if the usual way is going to make it look as good as yours
So you wanna keep frame centered
Like no re-centering
Need like centered all the time
Oh
I mean i dont think the moon came too close to the eyepiece
Here are the first and the last images
Yea barely even moved
What am i looking at?
Yeah it moved, when u stack it, u have like stacks artifact
Oooh fr?
This is like example of bad frame
They look totally normal
One is centered, but one is bottom, its.. indeed work, but eyepiece has distortion, so what u wanna do, just maintain thr position as close as possible like the first frame, so when you want to stack it, it has less stacks artifact
Oh ok
But if you dont want to stack its okay, just directly make a composite
Omg i hate how i dont have electricity, its so hot the power gave up idk
I would stack if i had battery on laptop
I see
If i WeTransfer it will you be able to stack it for me?
Suree
Yay thx
I included those 8 bright pucs too idk if you can do smr with them
26 files sent via WeTransfer, the simplest way to send your files around the world
This cant be mine
Oh wow you did such a great job
Its png right?
yeahh i have the stacked one
yes it is
1 thing to notice when shooting, i notice some motion blur when shooting, in 18 images i only took 5
Oh wow ok
i thing ur using shutter speed too low
its okay, for the mineral moon, color are nice, but it has lesser data so it doesnt really that pop out
Yea
wait lemme send the raw stacked
Next time ill take 50 maybe
i took like 200 minimum lmao
heres your file
haha its just some edit
Thank you so much
I need you on my side
Can i ask you sun in dm
WOAH
Done one once, I think you just need the perfect white balance
My moon isnt
dude same
Hercules Galaxy cluster (abell 2151) 95x16s 25m 20s. the bortle 2 vs 6 really really made a difference. also its focused much better
awesome but fyi the eastern veil is one of the brightest nebula you could ever hope for my dude
but like where is the cluster
So are you saying it'd be brighter than that?
my dude I got this in 2 hours of the even dimmer western veil
it would be wayyyyyy brighter
Idk, it was just 12 minutes using samsungs astrophoto mode.
oh well thats why lmao
in that case its kinda decent
I was just surprised I got it even slightly with no filters for it
dang what bortle again?
Outside of the typical uv/ir
4
thats pretty good im in a b 8.5
Sorry I guess it wasn't as apparent as on my computer. Here's it cropped and adjusted
that aint a cluster this is where is it in ur pic
The other Hercules cluster https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hercules_Cluster
The Hercules Cluster (Abell 2151) is a cluster of about 200 galaxies some 500 million light-years distant in the constellation Hercules. It is rich in spiral galaxies and shows many interacting galaxies. The cluster is part of the larger Hercules Supercluster, which is itself part of the much larger Great Wall super-structure.
The cluster's brig...
oh shit my bad
congrats that thing is a lot harder to get
Yea this one barely shows up when searching and usually gives the star cluster
if u throw hercules galaxy cluster in there it should come up
Yea I should edit the original
Yeah I couldn't imagine doing anything well with my stuff in a 8.5. Very blessed with my small town
come to the biggest little city in the world and suck it
atleast i have a b2 40 mins away
Yeah no thanks
I enjoy my skies when I can
Id rather have a month of clouds than image one night in a b8
thats kinda not true
I couldn't imagine how some of the bigger people in this hobby go back to big city lights after being in dark sites
Well of course its a little exaggerated, but (little story time here) there was a town-wide power outage and it made seeing so much more dazzling than normal
i got this thingy in like 7 hours i think
Maybe I'll try it once in the distant future to get a sense of some people's sufferings
I went to a b1 a couple weeks ago and trust me I know what some of the darkest skies look like
nowhereville california
trust me I know
the only hotel in that area was called the last resort
Only if it happened during milky way season 😔
it sure did
Imaging would've went crazy
Oh I was referencing to mine, but that's really cool for yours
I'll get my photo of it one day!
Celestron astromaster 130eq and realme 9
This is probably the sharpest lunar image I've seen from a phone + eyepiece
Veryy sharp
Im never shooting using something that isn't the normal phone camera ever again
And some older data I never used for a reason
You have a good chance of catching the blue lake
Probably not, blue like is microscopical, even when astrobiscuit tired it he struggled (with like WAY bigger telescope)
dude do u know how cool that would look if u just cropped some out
no tf he does not
like it almost looks like u didnt take it with a phone
@coral cedar i just got some more lunar and tried to use your advices
Ill send you a we transfer link and you tell me how i did
If you want ofc
suree
yeah its alright
Close up 166x
Does it help if they are raw?
Besides being much bigger files, and could sadly only upload half of them in wetransfer because it was much over the limit
44 files sent via WeTransfer, the simplest way to send your files around the world
Here it is tho
So try and focus it better, use the main camera on 1x, and try not to put buildings or structures in the pic as it will create those black lines around it
thats the main camera and its on 1x, theres nothing around my camera and its at the best focus it can achieve 🥲
i have no idea whats wrong with it
Hmm
Tbh it looks to me like the focus isnt the best and the camera has an eyefish effect, maybe its dirty idk
it probably is i think i forgot to clean it ngl but whats with the bluriness with the stars at the side?
but in the center theyre fine at the sides theyre sliding right a bit
Managed to shoot a sun spot by holding a polarising filter up to my phones camera (s22 ultra 10x lens)
i need help
my data with phone is super bad
how do i stack it
'bad' in the sense super noisy
Thts due to optical quality
Nothing you can do about it
You need to install siril on your pc and search for tutorials on youtube, thats how i learned
Ik siril, the data is soo bad not even that can stack it
Ill try something else
Hmm
Ik i had the same problem
That not even others that have experience couldnt stack it
Ive tried astrosurface, it prooves ro be the best
So either you throw the data in the bin or try really hard and maybe someone can somehow do it
Dss?
Nope, requires a lot of good stars
Yeah, the issue with me is the max exposure my phone allows(0.33 sec)
Oh right…
Ill lower the iso and retry
Uhm at least you dont get startrails
Lol
Yea lower it, and go for a lot more data
To have a decent pic
Yeah, ill retry with different iso's
Good luck to u too
Thanks
Hey Dominic sorry for late replying haha
I'm busy lately, I'll stack it for you
Lemme download
Alright sure
I shot again yesterday in jpeg and got twice as much data, and i think it will look better at the end too
Ill send the link to that here
Okay
When youre free lmk
I'm free tommorow
Perfect
guys does anyone know where did the deepskycamera phone database website go? i cant find it anywhere on the net
Night sky over Neenah, WI
Nvm found it
@spice gale
yes
sure
Jpeg
Like the first tine
still counts as raw
Oh rly
108 files sent via WeTransfer, the simplest way to send your files around the world
Perfwct
alright
Because i got 50% more data
oh yeah about the over exposure one, i just need 1 sample of it
Oh fr?
yeah
I did 9
But lesson learned
yeahh
@coral cedar might get clear tonight again, and si ce its the 4th consecutive night I tought I could do a phase tomelapse
How the moon changes phases
yes lets goo nice one
What blending mode do you use for full moon glow like that? I can't seem to make it glow in the same manner as I do with other phases 👀
So the atmosphere was very wobble but tbh i managed to capture some sharp data
So two things, pics are darker but sharper
And i took around 150
Tested my solar filter by shining a bright flashlight on the wall, let's through about 1/100,000 of light and has a magenta hue
What does WB 6500K mean?
Ignore it
Its whire balance
So low wb gives it a blueish tint
And high wb goves it a reddish tint
Reprocessed But with the same data apparently i got much more detail than i thought. also i was much worse at processing earlier this year than i am currently.
I don't use any blending mode actually, I separate the moon and the moon glow, there are 2 different photos
It's ok
Need lucky imaging
Oh yeah, looks much more like a stacked photo than what you had before
Nicely done
Though why is it black and white?
171 files sent via WeTransfer, the simplest way to send your files around the world
170 images not bad
when stacking in astrosurface Black and White reduces the noise and can get better results when the stars are extremely faint in the sub exposures
Suppose it makes sense with that data
milky way captured with phone 30 x 15s
Why does it look fake, like not enough stars are visible for it to appear that bright
Ah it's the core
And I use star removal also
U should add the stars back
Looks a tad cooked without them
Im sure the stars would ruin it
I'm curious tho
I don't really like a crowded stars dominate my pic tho
Too messed up tbh, so yeah I reduced it
Looks unnatural too imo
Maybe bc of the blue
What are you doing here seestar user😭
I dont own a seestar
no but fr
I sold it like a week ago
Awww
Yeah the noise microtexture is something I try not to obliterate
Yes
@coral cedar mind if you do me one more lunar pic??
Yess
I have your files, but I haven't edit yet
moonrise-lit clouds plus northern MW
171 files sent via WeTransfer, the simplest way to send your files around the world
@coral cedar here
Ohh thats sick
A little too cooked tbh, but it still looks pretty decent for a phone MW Core Image
Lmk how it is fir planetary and dso, i want to buy it too
Snagged it used for $250, so hoping it does well
Bargain
i m gonna buy a new phone should i go with samsung or motorola
Depends on shat models
Samsung has lots of bloatware, moto performers badly from my experience
But ye depends on model
what bloatware?
All them Samsung versions of app store, gallery, photos, etc that u can't uninstall
I see
whats bloating it?
I am comparing motorola's edge 50 fusion with samsung (the models which have raw and high exposure capabilities) for same price
Are you buying for personal use or purely for astro?
Peraonal with less of astro
I am planing to do planetary for which i already use a webcam
if you dont mind buying a 5 year old phone, the S20 is pretty solid
ive been using it quite a while and its been going well
Imo the latest phones should give the best experience, idk ur budget tho
I see, i dont mind it just that my parenta insist on buying phone by visiting a real shop and i dont think they would keep 5yra old phones
20k inr
look into the samsung A or J series
Did, not much option
S series is the flagship, i'd expect that to be far more expensive
Yeah
I am using a A04e (kinda shit in all aspects)
Shit. you can say the word.
Oh
try your luck with google pixel
Amazing bro, awesome
I took these 2 images using my phone from a Bortle 7.7 sky. 1st one used 7 images and 2nd one used 10. Each one with 32s exposure and ISO 800. Processed with Sequator.
no way this is bortle 7
Processed in sequator or stacked in sequator
Both
Well, stacked
But processed sound more cool tbh
Actually, 7.7 is closer to 8 than to 7
If wonder why no close up, that's obvious. I'd be doxing myself.
What did you process it in? I think you could get a little more detail out of it just to see how much it'd be possible to get
Star trials widefield, the app only let me do 100 frames when I clearly had 301 but who cares.... Anywayss taken on realme 9 in Slovenia (each frame 25 seconds)
milkyway live view with phone
was it this visible irl?
hg
I feel like people are doxxing themselves at this point
I see that you acknowledged that too. But I would not give out what city I live in, online to strangers
"What did you process in?"
No.
Kinda see it, but not too much, like my Milky Way image
Was viewing Saturn the other day and put my phone on my nexyz adapter and got this photo from a 90 second video pretty accurate to what I saw
that with a phone is really good
nice
Woahhh
That's the most sharpest saturn I've ever seen captured with phone
What telescope do you use, cant believe this is with a phone
12'' dobsonian
florida mentionned 🐊 🌀
What app?
I think its his phone cam
What phone? It allows for quite a high shutter speed
idk
What website is that?
iphone 16 pro max
yeah do NOT trust light pollution maps
Oh yea so uhm why is that
not accurate
Tell me one site thats accurate
none
Exactlyy
nothing
Robophobic lmao
Old scool, calculating light specs😭
Yea ive seen that vid buddy youre like b6 atm
Thats kinda bully ngl right mods?
Is that with just the regular camera app?
yeah
lightpollutionmap.app
@spice gale heres your wanning hdr moon
sorry for being this late
oh yeah for mineral moon, i cant push the color, because its jpeg, colors are awful lmao
but your moon's data is great tho, very sharp
The big dipper as captured by an iPhone 11
Why not?
This one has frequent updates
Includes recent changes in light pollution in my home town
I will be in B9 for a week 🥲
Its alright, thanks alot
Alr
I mean only thing is if you can make it 1:1 or 4:3, the hdr one
If you know what i mean
Like you did with this one
No worries
My first decent dso, 250x10 sec exposures, taken on my s25 ultra and powerseeker 70eq
that's pretty nice, I really wanna redo M27 but I cannot catch a break with these clouds
Andromeda Galaxy from B9
iPhone 12 Pro Max 2,5x telezoom
10min exposure, 6x100 iso 1660
B9
Here in Turkey is always Clear skys but B9
I will try do more exposure
By far my best shot, one hour of m16 in a bortle 3 with my dobson heritage 150mm and iphone 15 pro, using astroshader
GUYS
I took Samsung A36 5g
It has raw support and max exposure of 10secs on Dsc and 33 on openlivestacker
Tracked or no?
holy crap
why's the moon flipped
This is normal in Northern hemisphere
no it isnt
it's flipped vertically
that doesn't happen no matter where you are
This was my Full moon and I didn’t do anything
Youre right
I don’t know Why
Maybe Perspektive
perspective can't flip the moon
it can only rotate it
Nahh your too good
Nice one
Oh yeah this is my sec account haha
Yea i guessed😅
Thank you so much
Mirror moon looks so weird
Can camera 2 api probe show wrong results?
Its probably the actual scope rotated in a way to balance the phone
It is
Milky way single frame from bortle 3
Very good
Pov looking at the full moon with a telescope
I have a spot in my vision afterwards lol
One time, I told my dad to look at the moon through my telescope without telling him how bright it would be, that was fun lol
Saturn with my phone
Infinix note 50 pro
Celestron 80eq
80/900mm
Eye piece 4mm
Its cloudy ever since i bought my new phone
Damn, even the clouds are starting to recognize phone cameras as decent astrophotography equipment in the right hands. What vaporous little bastards, those clouds.
yesterday saturn, seeing was pretty poor, but i manage to get it somehow
whats your telescope?
celestron 80eq
Nicee
just order cheap refractor telescope haha
for phone its good
30 seconds from Navajo lake unedited
How tf did bro get more detail then my dslr
Thank youuu
I'm finally capturing new photos — working on NGC 4945, M27, M20, and Andromeda.
Doesn't get very high here in Brazil; tops out around 24 degrees where I am, but I still got some nice detail in a single sub
Apstrofatonkrafee
Svbony 18mm UFF. Same as Sky rover, APM etc UFF version
it´s 65 degree eyepiece
My scope is a 114/900mm F8~
Oh wow
Im f5
Here is a rough sub
As you can see lots of ugly stars and untracked mount
And i need a good flat field eyepiece
My sub is 55 seconds at ISO 800... I’m using a 114mm with a motorized Exos 2 running OnStep
Uhh mine was 180 s iso i dont remember and 6” dobson flextube untracked
Atm my next purchase should be a mount right?
Bray Falls, wait for me. I have many new discoveries saved here
It's a Bortle 4, but a very bright one. I believe most of the sky is already Bortle 5, with the horizon being close to 6.
man good to see you lucas
bring back your great photo
this is my attempt of doing andromeda with phone lmaooo
doing it untracked lmaoo
What eyepiece are you using?
Is it on an eq mount with slow motion controls?
Guys i am going back to b9 😭
My condolences
Rip
The only thing that calms me down is that at least the skies will be clear
Low light pollution, large diameter and a tracker
Plus a phone that is very good in low light
I haven’t even processed it yet. I just threw on an ABE (which messed up the image a bit) and did a auto stretch/BlurX — just the basics. I’ll process it later
NGC 7331 and SN 2025rbs 349x16s 1hr 33min Bortle 6. Please try to ignore walking noise for some reason the only stacking software that worked well was sequator and the hot pixel reduction in that is not great.
saturn, venus and jupiter images
Really nice results
Mw shot in bortle 2
