okay so, ive had it for ages and have like 40 smth characters xiao and venti are 90 with great builds, and eula +childe are 80 with decent builds. so i have good dps but i spread myself way too thin and i can't build supports. i just need like a starting guideline on what to start farming to help idk unspread myself thin??

it may be possible to get a few teams up and running quickly while you work on evening out your off field options
but ar55 with several onfielders isn't a bad place to be

ah ok, right now xiao and childe compete for bennett nearly all the time. But if you don't run those 2 teams at the same time in abyss, you will have no issue. You can just bring whoever you like for the moemnt between them
for childe, definitely his best team is childe xiangling bennett sucrose among the characters you have.
Give xiangling 4pc emblem, bennett 4pc noblesse, sucrose ttds and 4pc viridescent venerer on a full em build.
For xiao, since it doesn't look like you have faruzan, ttds sucrose + bennett is also his very good teammates here. For the last slot you can take fischl for dps or a shielder if xiao gets knocked off the air by enemies.
you can take venti there too if you are fighting enemies that venti can group, so that xiao can plunge without worrying about chasing enemies
A good character to keep an eye on is kuki shinobu since she allows you to build a second team very fast without overlapping characters
kuki yelan dendro fischl/sucrose/eula. Not the highest damage team for eula but extremely cheap to build and extremely comfortable to play.
Once xiangling and bennett are built you can also run yelan xiangling bennett xingqiu for a very strong single target team

bennett is very easy to build, you don't need a good build, you just need er/hp/hp or er/hp/hb with 4pc noblesse and er substats.
xiangling, yelan, xingqiu wants to be built for damage, and they all use 4pc emblem. So among your characters these would take time to build
sucrose is easy to build: 4pc vv full em, if you have er substats good, but you're not using her in teams where she uses her burst
and yes, if you get kuki, you nearly instantly has more options with your team comp and power. She is also easy to build. Lvl 90 with full em everything (weapon, mainstat, set bonuses)
sucrose doesn't need talent levels
xiangling just needs burst
xingqiu and yelan appearciate both burst and skill but if you're short on resources just level their burst
kuki doesn't need talent levels except enough skill level for the healing. Once you're comfortable with survival you don't have to level her skill further.
Fischl if you build her, just skill level. But built for damage. Currently her best set is 4pc golden troupe from fontaine but you can strongbox 2pc thundering fury + 2pc atk or em or farm 2pc golden troupe for her if you have a lot of things to farm for and need her built fast

if you're free to play and play the game pretty often, leyline tends to be a bad way to spend your resin
you will eventually get the exp books and mora to level up characters from playing, but there's no way to get artifacts without resin
if you afk a lot then you don't have the steady income of exp books and mora from bp and event, and leyline could be your only way to build up characters before you afk again
