It's been a while since Original Content Library has gotten traction. But now #・oc-library is going active!

Within this channel are OCs that have won major awards in past events and deserve to be solidified in Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's History. So how does it work then you may ask? A_HuSmuggers

For every OC event that takes place, the winning OC will be posted herein #・oc-library . Additional 2nd place and 3rd place are added depending on how big of an impact the OC events are. As an example, the first major OC event consisted of no more than around 10 OCs and was just a gig by one of the co-owners of the server. As such, Hikari Strannik is the only OC to be in the spotlight during this time. A_ThumbsupTao

However, major OCs like the recent 250,000 OPJ Celebration have 3 OCs as the significance of this event constituted big time during the milestone celebration. E_RaidenParty

Each OC has an ID tag that cannot be changed or removed.

It is separated into 3 sections:

Major / Minor - Separates the OC if the event was a major event or a standalone minor event. (More on that later)

01 / 02 / 03 / ... - Separates the OC based on their overall ranking scores achieved during the event.

Pre / 30 / 50 / 100 / ... - Separates the OC based on where it took place, Numericals are milestone events for the server while 3-letter combinations are for those that are not.

There are 5 OCs for you to choose what to work on. Who are they? That's all up to you to decide!

Listed below are the "Base Art" that you can decide to choose as to who your character will be.

You have the liberty to choose, a lovely assistant by the name of Nao#0007 will go around asking the representatives who your team likes to work on.

Beware that ONLY TWO AUTHORS can choose 1 of 5 OCs. Meaning, in each character's art, there will be at LEAST 2 Authors fighting for ownership of the OC.

⊹ EVENT RULES ⊹

❍ The only asset provided to each team is the base art. The rest of the data and other assets are within the discretion of each team to input.

Things such as Splash Art (Gacha Art), Food, Artifacts, and other art revolving around the given base art are allowed but not mandatory. If ever you're given the option, information about the character and who they are outweighs visual interpretation.

❍ Modification of the base art is NOT allowed, as it is not yours, to begin with. However, additional art inspired by the base art is acceptable.

Ownership of the additional art, be it food or artifacts, etc., are exclusive to the artist who draws. But the art that defines who the character is/looks like is owned by the original artists.

❍ Although it is not necessarily enforced, it is wise to prepare a WIP of the additional art you have created. Arts created using Artificial Intelligence are forbidden.

❍ Only Google Doc submissions ARE allowed. Any fancy documentation sites will not be entertained nor be valid for streamlining purposes.

❍ The design of the Document is up to the participating teams. Additional points are awarded for appealing presentations.

⊹ OC RULES ⊹

❏ The created OCs must have their current residency and country of origin set to strictly Liyue.

== OCs with relations outside of Liyue are allowed, given a logical story is provided that excuses them to depart from Liyue.
== OCs that have "died" are allowed to die outside of Liyue, given that a logical story is provided that excuses them to depart from Liyue.

❏ The created OCs must have spent most of their life serving the nation of Liyue through any means necessary. Be it through the ways of the divine or the ways of man. A diplomatic mission, for example, that forces them to leave Liyue is excused given that what they do is still within the interests of Liyue itself.

❏ The created OCs must not conflict with the current story of Genshin Impact nor should it change the outcome of any current scenarios.

An example of this is OCs with massive involvement in the Archon War. While participating in the war and gaining notable achievements are accepted, the OC should not have been a factor in whatever decisions Morax has made. If it is a factor, it should be information that is not stated and does not interfere with Genshin's current lore. (Then pray to the Lord of OCs that the people will accept your headcanon)

❏ The created OCs must not exist OR are currently missing in action within the current story of Genshin Impact. They are heroes/anti-heroes that have done deeds in the past and have gone down in the history books.

You are able to connect the stories from the previous Storyteller Sessions to the extent you wish you do. Allowing readers to be able to go back and make sense of what the previous stories may be.

Endorsement of the OCs stated from Storyteller Session within #・oc-discussion are permitted. Given that no direct claim of ownership (stated in the 2nd rule above) is revealed.

Various amount of Judges has been selected to see through it that the things you have worked on are true of high quality, fitting to be remembered by both the young and the old.

Below is the listed rubricks given by the Higher Council of this server that will dictate an OC's overall scores.

How relevant and related is your OC compared to the story and world-building of Genshin Impact? Does it feel out of place or are they a puzzle piece that fits right perfectly in the game?

・Creativity - 30% - ❈❈❈

How "unique" is your character in both the aspect of the lore of Genshin Impact and the gameplay experience they provide? Does it provide something new and fresh to our game?

・ Gameplay - 20% - ❈❈

Assuming your OC is ported into the actual game of Genshin Impact. How logical/illogical is your kit is compared to everyone else? Does it provide a balanced experienced while still being fun or are they overturned?

Tip: A character like Bennett is considered to be low in the Gameplay aspect of the rubrics. While someone like Nahida is considered high.

How readable is your Google Document?. Did you set your font to Comic Sans with absurd amounts of text size?
Are the color choices result in your text being unreadable? Are there WAY TOO many blocks of text in the doc? Is it actually reader friendly?

Additional Question:

Why is there no Art section in the Rubric scoring?

Answer:

It's been observed that ever since the OC event during [30K Milestone Celebration] Scores from other categories are affected by the Art Quality provided by the artist of their respective OCs.

This is highly prevalent in the [Gameplay] Category wherein visual assistance allows voters to imagine certain things better in favor of the Authors.

Additionally, it is highly effective in persuading votes when given to the community. Regardless of Judge's verdict. Notice how each OC event has an ever lower Art score% yet the victors are still those with overwhelmingly beautiful OCs?

Knowing this, we believe that the Art offered by an OC document will reflect scores over at the following: [Gameplay] and [Document Presentation] which encompasses 30% of the overall score an OC may get.

Followup Question:

What do you mean about it persuading the community? Does this mean that SAGA OF PAST PROTECTORS will have a community voting section?

Answer:

Yes, it will be split into the Judge category and Community category to which the cut will be disclosed only during the voting period with the majority going to the Judge as per usual.

Out of the 10 expected characters in the roster, only [6] OCs remain. Two were dropped due to IRL commitments while the other two had no response.

❖ One author has no competition for OC #2.

To recap, the original event planned for 10 teams to compete over 5 OC designs, 2 teams per design. Unfortunately, 4 teams weren't able to submit a final design, whittling down the competition significantly. Community Votes have a weight of 40% of the total score, and Judge Votes have a weight of 60% of the total score.

Despite not following the prompt of "Past Protectors," it appears her high scores in Presentation and Gameplay categories from community and judge alike allowed her to place in the top 3!

She is the first OC to score above 7 points, with a final score of 7.56!

Yes, it's the second cryo polearm: none other than CAO XIWU! Earning extremely strong scores from all our judges, with multiple 10/10s, we congratulate @lavish kelp, @oblique jackal, and @proven olive on their final OC score of 7.62 and the highest judge score!

You've probably figured this all out from process of elimination already, but our first place winner is JIANGZHUI, from @umbral ibex, @sharp nacelle, and @glass sierra.

With a final score of a whopping 7.88, this OC also racked up multiple 10/10s from different judges, including a perfect judge score in the Creativity category. Although several other OCs came very close, sometimes in more than one category, this is the one and only perfect score in any category in this competition. Wow! A_PogTao Furthermore, Jiangzhui also had the highest community score!
