I think it could be a nice addition.
it should only be able to be done with tools and should require a enchantment to use with said tools.

I personally don't see why this shouldn't be added. As other stuff basically does stuff to make things more convenient for you. Like Unbreaking, Mending and so on. Just like how Ultimine makes mining more convenient.
Hell I count Tarot cards with that as well, as they are really powerful but rare to find.
But their purpose is to make things more convenient for the player
