#**Wanting: Removal/Changes** Modpack: Prominenc...

I get why you feel that it might be weaker than melee, but in reality magic is currently the strongest build type.
In comparison with melee, magic damage requires a very good setup of talents, gear and enchants. When built properly, you can get builds to go from 500 to 2000 DPS.
I get what you’re trying to suggest here, but instead of going with the approach of removing rebalance instead, what I’ve been working on is a rework on how it works, making it only be aggressive at higher damage numbers instead of affecting pretty much everything, that way it won’t feel like you require to have a lot of gear to fight against certain bosses, for example.
These changes are being tested within 3.0.2, which I look on releasing in the next few days.
From your message I can also see that you’re new into the magic aspect of the pack, and I know it’s quite complex at first, but I’ll plan on simplifying it as well possible, and write both a questline specifically designed to explain that, and would probably be able to ask Sid to make a new learn magic video updated to v3.0.0’s standards. For now, feel free to ask the questions in the builds thread, there are a lot of resources in pins too 😄
I mean I know how it works-- ive used Wizards and Spellblades in another fabric pack before as my main mods.
But they were never this awful early game. All of fire spellblade's moves for example just out dps'd by swinging the sword regularly.
Im glad mage seems to pick itself up later on, but it doesn't change the fact that it feels Abysmal early game. That said, I'm looking forward to 3.0.2's changes.
Ranger seems to suffer from this same issue early the damage is just pathetic
Some bow shots are out here doing like 2.6.
Why would I even bother
Magic is the most powerful. Just gear and enchant dependent.
You can get enchants early plus an autofire hook and bows are fine
So what I'm getting here is if I don't have like a full setup dedicated to magic, I can't just have it as a secondary ranged option because it'll do too little damage?
