The explorer's compass is to broken of a mod to use, as in it's way to OP. It makes it very easy to locate any structure in a modpack, and get the loot from it.

The compass helps a lot because it's virtually a cheat code. It would need to be WAY harder to make to be even a little balanced. It's a good idea for someone who's reached endgame and is just looking to experience all the content in the game, but having it while you're still at the "upgrading" stage is waaaay not the point of this adventure modpack imo
